Dear Tenant,
This is your 24 hour notice on the intent to enter your apartment.
Our maintenance personnel will be by some time after 10 am tomorrow to recaulk the bathtub. Please make arrangements not to use the shower until Thursday morning, in order to give the caulking time to dry.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
First to all, the management seems to have an odd concept of 24 hour notice, given that this notice was not up on my door when I left for work early this afternoon. Also, it's really lucky for her that I have a gym membership so that I have a place to shower. In general, arrangements like this are a big pain in the ass when I find out about it at 10:30 at night, when I get home from work.
God, shit like this pisses me off.

i always liked those things. felt like a field trip, but in reverse, and with people who weren't me. i'd give the workers some coke or some chips.

Landlord-tenant relationships are the most one-sided, unfair relationships in the he history of ever.

One time I was renting a house and they made me pull all the weeds around the house, despite the fact that they were there before I rented the place a few months earlier and, judging by the size of some of them, were almost as old as the house itself.

So your landlord is having people come by to fix some shit in your apartment and you're angry about it because they may or may not have actually given you 24 hours notice (as "after 10am" is an ambiguous term)?
You should totally bring action under your state's landlord-tenant act.

At least they gave you a notice. The place Taxman and I rented in LA, before we bought our first house, replaced the plumbing in the entire building. It was a huge nightmare, and we were rarely notified when contractors came into our place.

I always leave a stack of porn by my door just in case they come in to fix something. Might assure better service.

My shit really didn't need to be fixed. Some of the caulking came loose from the wall, so I bought a tube of caulk and patched over those parts. When I had an inspection a week back, she noticed where I patched it up. The maintenance guy looked at it, said it looked fine and they left without saying anything about having the tub entirely redone.
It's inconvenient because I work a night job and I usually get up around 11 am or noon. She knows I work nights. But really it's the "hey, I hope you don't need your tube the next couple of days, kthnxbye" part that bugs me. Like I said, if I didn't have a gym membership so I can shower at the gym, this would have been a huge pain in the ass. Mainly I see this as a lack of courtesy.
