It's fucking tasty! (Cook 1 can chili and 1 package of mac and cheese, then mix together.) My wife introduced me to this, yesterday and I'm kicking myself for not discovering this meal whilst in college.

P.S. Try it with Fritos. :thumb:

Your wife is trying to kill you.

There is a lot of very tasty, very low-fat (even vegetarian) chili products/recipes out there. Plus, it can also be very high on fiber. Mac and cheese can also be prepared relatively healthily.

Yarp.

This was one of my favorite post drinking food items.

Never tried it with Fritos... That's pretty much brilliant.

Conversely, a couple of hot dogs cut up into a bowl of baked beans and mac n' cheese is heavenly.

I call it White Trash Goulash.

Yep, how does anyone not know this?

Although I prefer the steak and shake version that uses spaghetti instead of mac & cheese, but with shredded cheese on top.

It is kind of maddening how they develop markets, but they do have a method.

Their development plan is that they enter a market with enough locations to justify the cost of their primary marketing method, TV ads. That means they have to make sure that the market can support enough locations at the right level of productivity to stay open.

It also doesn't help that a big part of their expansion recently has been focused on developing their existing markets instead of expanding into completely new ones. However, they have recently hired a new CEO, so that might change soon.

And yes, I'm well aware that you probably didn't need or want to know all that, but hey, at least you have an answer, right?

And yes, S 'n S is the shit. And I actually love their fries. I'm not big on the mid-size fries like McDonald's or Burger King. I either go for the small ones like Steak n Shake or the big ones like Wendy's.

Fiber helps push the poison out faster.

Chili, chopped up frankfurters, tater tots, mix them up in a baking pan, add shredded cheese on top, bake until cheese is molten.

Serve with crumbled chips on top.

I tend to over-estimate my own nerdiness and under-estimate the nerdiness of others.

But yeah, Steak 'n Shake exists in its own little niche between fast food and "casual dining" like Applebee's and Chili's. Because of that, they have to have a pretty specific approach to developing new markets. It is amazing what you learn in Business School. amirite?
