View Full Version : BB Review Group Voting Thread for 10/10

Ray G.
10-05-2007, 12:55 PM
Okay, since Thud is rarely online when the Midtown list goes up, he's asked me to handle the voting threads. This is not a coup d'etat. :D

Quick summary of what this thread is:

This thread is for everyone to determine what book we will review in the BB Review Thread. In the past we took turns picking a book but now we are openly voting for titles we would like to see reviewed. Everyone is welcome to participate, no need to ask.

After visiting the Midtown shipping list (or another one you prefer) and looking over the choices please nominate one book. At the end of the week (thread closes on Tuesday at 6pm CST) the title with the most votes wins. Feel free to lobby for your choice as much as you please :)

There are no restrictions on what you can nominate and vote. Any publisher (no matter how small) any price (singles, trades, hardcovers ect) and import titles are all fair game.

We will do a new thread every week to do these votes

Here's the list of what is shipping 10/10:

Time to pick next weeks book :)

Okay, we've got an interesting week, and it looks like one of those dastardly DC weeks, too! :D

We've got three launches from DC: Judd Winick's Green Arrow/Black Canary #1, Steve Niles' original horror creation Simon Dark #1, Bill Morrison writing the first ever all-ages Countdown tie-in, Captain Carrot and the Final Ark #1, and a new arc of Kurt Buseik's excellent Superman run promising big developments over in Superman #668.

Right now, I'm going to nominate Simon Dark #1, solely because I think it'd make for the most interesting reviews.

http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/812/812885p1.html

US, August 14, 2007 - Several months ago DC Comics announced that writer Gail Simone would be joining Terry and Rachel Dodson on Wonder Woman. That transition was slated for this October with issue #13. Today the publisher announced fans would have to wait one more month for November's issue #14.

Senior Editor Matt Idelson issued a statement along with the announcement, saying, "The reason we pushed back the new team's start is that Terry had a few other commitments, and we wanted to make sure we wouldn't have to interrupt his and Gail's run with a fill-in issue."

In place of Simone's arrival will be a stand-alone issue by J. Torres with art by Julian Lopez (best known for his work on Superman: Confidential). DC released the following information about the new content: "The war with the Amazons may be over, but the wounds haven't even begun to heal. Wonder Woman has her hands full with anti-Amazon sentiment in America, much of it targeted toward Wonder Girl! When it comes to hate and fear, even a magic lasso can only do so much!"

DC also wanted to remind fans that Torres would be helming the Wonder Girl mini-series, due out this fall. The Dodsons will still provide the cover to Wonder Woman #13.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying P(WF) worked out because it was an Image book that was widely available, even if it was very much in the vein of indie autobiographical comics. But I Killed Adolf Hitler, if it had won, was more expensive, hard to find, and unlikely to get as many reviews.

gotcha, didnt follow you the first time i read that. i would not have reviewed the hitler book because of the price. i will not vote for or review a book that is more than 5-7 dollars.

i am going to call my shop on monday and place an order for it. so i wont post my review untill next week if ti wins.
