I like them both at different times, I guess. Sometimes the syrupyness of canned peaches can be a little cloying.

I can't stand peaches in any form.

Although my mom made me drink peach pop when I got the top of my finger sliced off so I would go into shock, so I will always respect peaches if though we'll never get along.

I think the fact that canned peaches are soaked in sugar might have something to do with it.

I think the thing that makes canned peaches (or just about any fruit for that matter) seem better is the suckiness of biting into a rotten piece of fruit. You're pretty much guaranteed that's not going to happen with canned... but then you get all of that extra syrup/sugar - unless you wash it off like I do (or buy the light syrup peaches).

That being said I prefer fresh peaches when I can get 'em. Ever tried a donut peach?

Donut peach = less pit & less chance of a "bad" peach :)
