I mean besides the usual "he does unfunny prop comedy" kinda wrong. Look at this guy. If I couldn't see his feet, I'd think that Rob Liefeld drew him!

Roids.
He and Danny Bonaduce are in some kind of red-head race.

There's no reason why he should be any less famous today than he ever was.

Fads usually decay.
Semi-celebs also follow this trend quite often. Where's William Hung, for example. That comic from the early '90s who became huge for cursing all the time? I was quite sure he'd be one of those cases.

Carrot Top is pretty normal.
He was on Penn Jillette's radio show....pretty interesting interview. He's pretty level headed.

I dunno. Carrot Top never struck me as one of those "instant celebrities" looking to milk their 15 minutes of fame. I don't think the market was ever really that oversaturated by Carrot Top. It just seemed like he was everywhere because his appearance and personality make him stand out.

I suppose. However, I never imagined that his shtick and the novelty of his appearance would lend itself to a prolonged career spanning more than 15 years...and I would be wrong, as this cat is still getting guest spots on comedies and making a living with his stand-up.
I remember watching Space Ghost around 1997 (I was 10) and thinking he was hilarious. I rewatched the dvds a few weeks ago (now 20) and couldn't believe he was still in the limelight, especially considering his stage show is roughly the same as it was seven or eight years ago (a friend dragged me to it in the summer after I dragged her to a The Number 12 Looks Like You concert) and it was about the same as when my mom and I saw him in the late '90s.
He's an enigma.

I had never heard of Carrot Top until this girl I was seeing bought us tickets to go see him live. After I sat through that crapfest I broke up with the girl the next day. I can't be with someone who enjoys that kind of comedy.

I can't look at him without feeling disturbed inside. Something very artificial about his looks, like he's not real. He just gives me the willies....

I remember years ago on Conan O'Brian Norm MacDonald was a guest, then a co-star of Carrot Top movie called Chairman of the Board came on to promote that movie, Norm MacDonald decided to stick around and commented something like:
"Chairman of the Board? Why don't they just call it Box Office Poison?"
