Watching Monk right now, Lt. Disher is wearing Captain AmericA ( ;-) )pajamas. There's been a few comic book references because of it...kinda fun.
Anyone else here fans of Monk?? I just love this guy...(and, unfortunately, I also relate to him a bit... )

Not to mention the Bendis Security System from a month or so ago.
This is a really good episode so far, too.

Look, I woke up with tummy trouble (won't get graphic), helped hubby clean out the Garage From Hell from 9 am til 7:30 pm, didn't get to eat dinner until 8:30 pm...and am slightly tipsy from the three glasses of wine I've had...so far. It's just a good thing I didn't call him Wolverine, eh? ;-)

Yeah, it was a great episode. Totally broke the formula of your average Monk episode because you don't even know if a crime really was committed until close to the end.

I'm a lot like Monk in several ways...mostly when it comes to compulsive organization. I'm not like him when it comes to nature and dirt (love the outdoors and camping and pets), but am like him when it comes to human germs (I have a 'thing' about bodily fluids - especially snot  ). Also have a ton of phobias (spiders, heights, flying, electricity...). So, usually there is at least one thing in each episode that makes me lol because I can SO relate to it.

I watched one monk and liked it alot, but I like earl more so i will just watch it and nothing else. I know there is many great shows out there, but I am happy with the one show i watch.
I also like many flavors of ice cream, but only eat chocolate chip, just because.
Who am I? ;)

I started watching Monk last summer when my son was born and I enjoy the show. I'm excited to watch this episode.

Yup, I'm the same way. Lots of stuff I like, but only one or two things I actually stick with. Wolverine and Monk...what a freaky combination! LOL...could you imagine those two together!?! LOL!...oh. Wait. We already have that...
Wolverine and Cyclops.

There's a lot of geekery hidden in Monk. The actor who plays Lt. Disher is also an anime voice over guy who played Joe Higashi in the Fatal Fury movies.

This is a really good episode so far, too.
It was a really good episode. That being said though, this season has been easily THE WORST run of episodes MONK has ever had. As much as I love MONK, I hope they finish strong in Feburary/March and possibly end the show on a high note. I'm just not sure they can really squeeze out another quality year of this show.
Also I'd like to say I've become a HUGE fan of Psych. It was a little hit-and-miss the first season, but this show has become one of my favorites (and I watch WAAAAY too much TV).

That's funny...because I thought these were some of the best Monk episodes! LOL. We all have different tastes, I suppose. I tried Psych, but in the first few episodes the guy kinda annoyed me, so I stopped watching. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

That is just the kind of information I need to know. I always geek out when I recognize a voice of an actor because it was from a anime.
Thanks I'll have to see this guy whose voice I know so well.

Did anyone catch the Dentist episode where some random cop talks about his experience, saying: "I dreamed I was Green Lantern, it was great. I didn't want it to end".

I love Monk!
My wife got me hooked on this show about 2 years ago, and I've been stalking the season DVDs ever since. Each time we buy one we have a MOnk-a-thon and watch the entire season in one sitting. Same with Dr. Who.
Because we just got season 5 last week, I got to see Psych, and we both love that show now, too. Got the first season coming from Netflix this week.

Personally, I love the Trudy stuff the best. (followed by the Ambrose stuff) Anything that deals with him trying to solve her death, or just remembering stuff from their past. Even though a lot of it makes me a weepy bitch.
If they end this show, Monk NEEDS to find the guy that killed her and why he did it. There needs to be closure.

Loved that episode, and accidentally deleted it. Grrrr. But - if it's the episode I'm thinking about, I do recall that passage. Love when writers add pop culture stuff in like that.
When Pirates of the Caribbean first came out, NCIS made reference to the cursed pirates when comparing them to a burned up body they found. I think they mentioned that movie twice, which always makes me laugh because Gibbs is (or acts) clueless about all movies. One reason I like that show...for the pop culture references.

I would bet a paycheck that they will end it with Monk finding the killer. And one of the last scenes should be Monk passing some kind of post, reaching his hand out to touch it, then stopping and shaking his head, then walking off.
