Any other Delaware Vallians addicted to these things?? To me, they're the best Tastykake pie out there! Creamy and rich and delicious!!! I can't wait for these to show up in the fall...yummy!!

I just ignore the 2.5g of trans fat....

Tastykakes? Das, where do you live that you're getting tastykakes? Are you in the philly area or are they availible elsewhere too now?

Enough people from the north moved to Florida that one of our grocery store chains (Publix) carries them.

They're all over the place now up and down the east coast. I've even seen them as far west as Indy.

Also...the only tastypie better than the pumpkin pie is the Strawberry pie they make. When i used to work at a newsstand in center city, the Tastykake guy would deliver the pies still warm (from the factory) and a warm Strawberry Tastypie is what angels eat for breakfast.

And Pumpkin Pies are ok, but I'm a Cherry/Blueberry/Apple/French Apple/Lemon/Boston Cream guy myself

I've seen 'em out here in California, but that was at a cheesesteak shop, so I imagine that they special order them for "authenticity's sake"...

The Strawberry one's amazing!
Show's not on yet. Still not sure of the airdate. As of last week, neither were the producers.

Bonus points for them! That's a cool move. I'd almost imagine their cheesesteaks are pretty good if they go so far as to get Tastykakes in stock.

Pumpkin Pie is only available in the fall...from September through December, I think. Sure, they're no replacement for homemade pumpkin pie...but as far as commercially-made pies, these are the best - trans fats, be damned!

They're pretty dang good, but of course I have no authentic comparison as I've never been farther east than Des Moines...

This reminds me I think i have a fully stamped "sammich club card' from there I should redeem soon... I used to work at a coffee shop in the same neighborhood and the manager would swap me fully stamped cards for coffee. It was a good deal.

oh, yum. The French apple used to be a favorite of mine years ago...couldn't get enough...until I found the pumpkin.

Of all Tastykakes, this is my favorite. Second runner up are the Chocolate Kandy Kakes....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v54/dasNdanger/kandykake.jpg

And third, has to be Butterscotch Krimpets....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v54/dasNdanger/krumpet.jpg

I love the krimpets because, in the summer, my grandma would always give me tea with krimpets in the evening, before bed. It was a ritual that I'll always remember with much fondness. I don't eat them now because they are REALLY sweet, but they hold a special place in me heart....

You can always pick out the seasoned pros at eating butterscotch krimpets if they rub the pack (icing side down) on their leg before opening the wrapper. ;) They are, by the way, the best 'dunking food' in the world. Moreso that oreos.

This thread has inspired me once more. At the next out of Philly comic con, I'm bringing a crapload of Tastykakes to share with my out of state/area peeps.

Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Taskykake.

PS I think there is a 1-800 tastykake number and you can have them shipped anywhere.

No...there is another way....

Lickin' the wrapper!! :blurp: For a kid, that was the bestest!! When it was warm - before AC - the icing would get soft, and licking the wrapper was like licking the spoon after mom made cake icing...a real treat. Yum!!

I was getting a sandwich today and saw they had the pumpkin pie so, in honor of Das, I bought one.

I was only so-so - a bit too spicy. I like a smoother, sweeter pumpkin pie. But still, I felt that much more bonded with the BenBo for trying!

I see nothing weird about it - I bet it tastes great! I love maple syrup, and won't let that fake corn syrup stuff in my house. And the spices in pumpkin pie probably go well with the maple. Yum. I so love autumn...now I want apples and Cabot cheese and maple syrup and pumpkin pies and all that good stuff.

i'm hungry.
