View Full Version : New Star Wars Cross Over

For Star Wars Fans :

First, 2008 will see Star Wars: Vector, a crossover story that will be “similar to Civil War in its scope and style,” according to Dark Horse’s Jeremy Atkins. One constant character will experience the story as it travels through all four of Dark Horse’s Star Wars titles: Knights of the Old Republic, Rebellion, Legacy and Dark Times. John Ostrander and John Jackson Miller will oversee the story direction through the titles

I only read Legacy, so have no idea what is happenig in the other books. I also dont know who the cnetral character through all of them is.

My first off the cuff guess would be the spirit of some Sith Lord, possibly a jedi.

God I hope its not a time travel story. Cause it wouldn't work in Star Wars.

Why? I don't think it's ever been attempted. Simon Furman did it with Transformers when it had never been done and made it one of the UK comic's trademarks.

That being said, I probably won't read it because of the words "Star", "Wars" and "Comics" in the same sentence. :)

I am looking forward to it. hopefully it is good. One thing I like about he Star Wars universe is that it is all cannon and you dont have to write anything off.

I alwasy apreciate Lucass iron grip on the property for that alone.

The way I see it is that this is probably soemthign that has been brewing fro centuries and culminates in Legacy.

I collect all 4 Dark Horse titles...and although not that crazy about this idea...I have a ton of faith in Ostrander to make this into a good story that I'll be purchasing this mini. I doubt it will be a time travel story like others have suggested. Wasn't Chewie and Yoda a few hundred years old?? It could be an alien race that lives a long time...or simply the spirit of a Jedi or Sith.

Damn...I thought this was a mini-series. Well, I collect all four titles anyway so it doesn't affect me as much. For those of you who don't read all of the titles, do you plan on picking them all up for this story?

I've enjoyed Legacy, mostly b/c I don't need to know about the other books. I'm hesitant about any kind of crossover.

This is what I thought. It will be interesting to see what the numbers are for this little "experiment". I'm hoping not too good so that they don't try this again. I like each title somewhat existing in its own timeline.

I'd like to see a Civil War thing where Luke and Han end up staring each other down on different sides of the rebellion or something. Then Han's side would bust out a clone of Ben Kenobi that'd use his force powers to kill the Rancor and.... man, I better save these ideas for my next fanfic! Once I finish "Chewbacca Comes To My High School And Beats Up Josh McCombe", it's on!

They reprinted two different Star Wars comic strips in comic book form. They cut up the art and pasted it back together to look more like a comic, and they left out a bunch of the daily strips, they weren't complete.

i'll probably get the trade of the crossover, and let the involved issues of the other two decide whether or not i should be reading those.

There are whole characters from the strips that were entirely edited out. I didn't even know it until after I read them. I don't understand why there aren't complete collections of every Star Wars strip.

Or comic or short story for that matter.

Nothing Star Wars should be hard to find.

He can peek into the past from another person's point of view.

It's mainly used (from what I saw) to see where Anakin Skywalker went wrong, and how he could avoid the same fate.

Nice to see a Star Wars thread making it a few pages. I, for one, am very excited about the cross-over. Without knowing all of the particulars, the story is in great hands. Ostrander has been gold since he worked on Republic and Jackson-Miller writes my favorite Star Wars comic right now. I don't know about you all, but the expanded universe has been excellent lately. With the exception of about 3-4 novels in the epic 19 book NJO series and the Dark Nest trilogy, most Star Wars stories have been very solid. The new novel series is an absolute page turner. Love it. In all EU stories, characters have been created that have certainly made an impact and continue to draw fans. Well planned. Thoughts?

Outside of the novelizations, I don't think he adds much input. Here's a rumor for ya, Supposedly he asked that Quinlan not be killed so that he would be available for the upcoming live action show. If you remember, in the movie comic, it looks like Quinlan is blown up. Later, in Republic, it shows how he escapes. I asked Duursema about Quinlan and she acted like there were plans for him, but I may have been reading into it because I didn't want the character to bite it.

I like that but it jsut seems so expansive at this point and I dont know where to jump. That is why I hoped on Legacy. I have the cool things about SW, All the other stuff is still there but it is so far away as to not mater in most day to day stories.
