No one has fully explained how a guy that took a prescribed medication a year before it was banned and with no indication that it continues ruins the feel good story.

Because most people are gonna see "Ankiel on HGH" and not give a shit if it was prescribed. Plus, most people, including myself, are gonna presume (perhaps unfairly) that Ankiel is still on it. Hell, I bet almost every baseball, football, etc. is on it since there is no reliable test for it.
