but by the time you get to them they are so far into it that you decide to ignore them ?
Over the years that I have been on this board that has happened a bunch to me. I was mostly a here and there lurker for most of my time on this board. I would come here every now and then. I would see threads that looked really cool but by the time I got to them they were 20 or more pages into it.
I just started thinking of his today after I saw how fast the talk of the new issue of Hulk got long. A few hours ago I was one of the early posters and now it is at least 243 posts into. who knows how many more post it has once I guet done.
Now I have to consider whether or not I want to read all 20+ pages to get back into it.
Does this ever happen to you ? how long does a thread have to be before you ingore it ?
ok I am done.

Yeah, since I only have internet access at work I'm late to a bunch of threads. Sometimes I'll just jump in after scanning the first few and last pages, sometimes I just ignore them.

Yes, and by posting on the first page of this one, I feel like I'm getting in on the ground floor of something special.

If I want to post in a thread, I'll post in it. I don't care if it's got one post or 10,000.

Any thread that says Kill This in it...
or a DC thread, I'm barely qualified to know what is going on in those.

Well, the "Kill This Thread" threads literally have NO purpose, so any point is a good jumping in point if you want to say hi :)

If I want to post in a thread, I'll post in it. I don't care if it's got one post or 10,000.That is isn't really true. No thread has ever reached 10,000 posts on this board without your contribution.

Actually, a few have.
And that doesn't change my point :?

you should change your board settings to 30 posts per page then it will be less than 10 pages to read.

Thats a great idea... lets change a gallon to 1 quart so we get better mileage !:)
I had no idea that i could manually do that. i will have to look into it.

I see threads all the time that I have to pass on...I just don't have the patience to read through all the comments, or the time...or sometimes I just don't bother because no one's mentioned Wolver...*urgph*...iiiinnne...*wheeze, gasp, cough* *fights off the choking grip of the Benbo Collective*
As I was saying...yeah, there are some threads I just skip, despite my interest in them....

Ever wonder why those of us on the new board as long as Aalgar and Howlett only have 10 - 15k posts?
That's your answer.

Fortunately nobody ever posts anything of substance, so going through even the longest threads is a breeze.

I've been a member of this incarnation of the board since day one (and was on the old boards as well) and I'm not even to a thousand posts. This phenomenon of skipping threads that are too deep is one I am very familiar with.

it just really depends what the subject is. if it's something i'm interested in, i don't mind going through. it's become a lot easier since i changed the number of posts per page.

Happens all the time. When I saw that this was 4 pages long I was already thinking it was too big to jump in :)
I think that's why I post a lot more on Oeming's forum. Though that's also because over the past few years I've come to know a lot of the people over there personally.
