It was relatively quick and painless, what with my being unconscious and all. 12 hours later my jaw is sore, and I want my meds, but all in all having all four wisdom teeth pulled in one go didn't turn out as bad as I might have expected.

Yeah, it's mostly harmless for most people, but you only hear about the people that have really really bad experiences.
I went out for dinner the same night i got mine out.

I was in the most incredible pain of my life for like two weeks after I had all four wisdom teeth out. The painkillers they persrcibed me weren't working. I was taking like 8 Tylenol every few hours. And about three days after the surgery I drove cross contry to Oregon, over a two thousand mile trip that took three days. It was insane.
Then, one day, it just stopped. No more pain.

My advice? Just take any pain without dipping into the meds. Then when you need a pick me up down the line...

I was doing fine Tuesday (still numb), Wednesday (sort of raw feeling, but generally okay), then started to degrade on Thursday (ow, my mouf hurts), and yesterday was just crazy throbbing jaw pain all day.
Because of that, I wrote the last third of an issue of Ms. Marvel on pain medication that was making me really hyper and jumpy and causing incredible anxiety all while making me really sleepy, which caused me to drink a couple Red Bulls to meet the deadline. So, you know, I'm pretty excited/scared to see what Wacker's response is to that issue.
