What's the difference between it and the pilot they aired?

I read the script to the pilot and remembered that the one big difference between that and what aired was Issac chopping off his hand in a fit of withdrawal

Parkman shows up in this episode. Sylar is in it, played by a different actor, and his last name is actually Sylar.

Whoah. In retrospect, I've come to realize that I've only seen the unaired version, and never saw the aired version. I got a hold of a bootleg a while back, and missed the first airing, because I figure I saw it. When I saw Isaac with two hands, I was kind of wondering what was going on.

parkman's wife is a different actress, the whole scene at the house where parkman first shows up is different (they find a middle-eastern terrorist there instead of a little girl), there are middle-easter looking terrorists involved, the nuclean guy is actually a middle-eastern looking terrorist guy, looks like niki's kid visits dad in jail, claire and the boy are in no way shape or form friends when he starts video-taping her death defying, the train wreck is related to the nuclear bomb threat, the last scene between peter and nathan is very differnt from what i remember.

DL wants to get out of prison to kill Nathan. No reasoning is given other than he believes Nathan is the reason he's in jail.
Or maybe that was just in deleted scenes and not the pilot. I can't remember.

I would have love to have seen the terrorist angle played out.

The reason was that he was the D.A. that got him put away. It was on the newspaper article he pins up in his cell (which was in the deleted scenes, not the extended pilot).
