Thankies! Sometimes I just feel so...dorky...for liking the character as much as I do. I can't even explain WHAT I like about the guy. Then I read something like Wolverine #56, and I know that's the guy I like. Read The Killing today, too...from 1993, I think. Liked that lots, too. I wish someone would explain to me what it is about the guy I can't get enough of - maybe if I could find another character with that same characteristic I could move onto someone else.

Not sure I could move all the way to DC, though. Batman...maybe. But we all know he's really a closet Marvel character anyway.... ;-)

You don't consider Uncanny X-Men a major title? Then what DO you consider major? It was THE first book I ever picked up as a comic fan so I assume other new readers have done the same. I mean it IS the X-men's flagship title. So i can assume some new readers MIGHT be observant enough to notice the guys name. I mean the guy killed Captain America how can you get huger than that?

You don't consider Uncanny X-Men a major title? Then what DO you consider major? It was THE first book I ever picked up as a comic fan so I assume other new readers have done the same. I mean it IS the X-men's flagship title. So i can assume some new readers MIGHT be observant enough to notice the guys name. I mean the guy killed Captain America how can you get huger than that?

OK - You're fucking with me now, right??? I have no clue at all what you're talking about. Where did I ever say UXM is NOT a major marvel title?

Are you fucking with me? YOU said a new marvel reader may not Know who he is, therefore Captain America and Uncanny X-men must not be major titles. because of course NO new readers are going to be picking THOSE up <----- :sarcasm: And I'm done with this. You apparently need to re-read your OWN posts.

This thread made me realize that I haven't the slightest clue who half the folks on my XBL friends list even are. Repeated multiplayer emasculation just became slightly alluring.

Next time someone tells me to "Go back to training, bitch!", I'll just pretend it's Bendis.

Only if I can start calling Bendis Wonder Man.

Bendis should only go by one name. Mrs. Luke Cage.

maybe, maybe not. Before this board, I probably wouldn't have known who he is, cause I don't read a lot of DC. Same as if a huge DC fan were to say "Who's Dan Slott?" or "Who's Ed Brubaker?"
:?

He's done quite a bit for DC.

Shut up! You shut up your face! Paste Pot Pete is a beautiful character and my love for him is eternal!

Now it's your turn to endlessly bug Bendis about writing Ultimate Paste Pot Pete. ;)

Because they didn't read Catwoman or Gotham Central?

Because not everyone knows every writer from the big two?

Because they just started in comics again?

Take your pick.
Or his run on Batman alongside Greg Rucka....

It's easy to figure out. Let's say a Buffy fan who's never read a Marvel comic decides to check out Whedon's work on Astonishing X-Men and/or Runaways, both of which Brubaker hasn't touched. They'd be a new Marvel reader, and not have read anything Brubaker wrote, and therefore probably haven't heard of him.
