I find myself scouring every surface of this game, reading every ad on the wall, trying to absorb every bit of this game's world.
In the same way that a good film or novel can make you forget you're watching actors, or reading words, I pretty much just forgot I was on my couch for the last hour.

I went through the demo twice for the exact same reason.
Plus, I found the flamethrower injection thingy I missed the first time.
I hadn't set anyone on fire in a video game since The Punisher.
Good times.

I played it for about 14 hours straight yesterday... fucking awesome game. I fully intend to play through again to try the other morality choices and look for anything I missed.

So addictive... I lost myself in it for almost two hours, which is a lot of sit-down-and-game time for me.

Don't you have a job, or something?

For you, that's like if I sat down and played a game for 14 hours straight.

Roughly, yeah.

Setting fire to cats and using them as projectiles to set other people on fire, and killing people with their own hats is probably the most fun you can have in a video game :D

Spoilersssss!!!
Don't look up a list of the achievements online.
I had a guy at work ask about one of the achievements he saw on a website, and it happened to be a secret achievement and it was a HUGE spoiler.

The box is sitting on my coffee table. I am afraid to open it.

Sick days certainly aren't for when I have the sniffles.
They're for life-altering events like Bioshock or Fallout 3 coming out.

Good thought -- I haven't, and I won't.

First, a bit of snark.
I suggest renaming this game BIOSHOCK: ATLAS SHRUGGED just so Ayn Rand gets her proper due for the inspiration. I was reading up on her yesterday (a serious hole in my literary knowledge I'm aiming to plug), and came across the plot of Atlas Shrugged. Now, Ayn wasn't into genetic modifications and demon girls escorted by golems, but a lot of the meat on this game's bones seems to be very much inspired by her work.
Now, a question for Steve, or anyone else reasonably deep in the game/done - I've got a completion question, and I don't want any spoilers beyond a percentage. I am (spoilers ahead)
just now at the point where the trees got poisoned and I have to go get a sample for the gardener lady
And I'm just curious where I am in the overall plot I am? 25%? 50%? 10%?
I've only been playing an hour a night, and they've been pretty leisurely hours, so I'm guessing I'm not terribly deep. Then again, I thought the same thing about Tomb Raider Legends and Halo 2...

About 25%
The game is bigger than you think. It's not Oblivion or Final Fantasy size, but if you're taking the time to check out the recordings and not just running and gunning through the entire thing you're looking at a good 25 hours give or take.

Thanks. I'm watching the Christmas Game Pile Up start (Metroid, Warhawk & Blue Dragon this week alone) and was starting to think maybe I'd do a marathon session if I were closer to the end of Bioshock than I hoped I was.
