Sheesh this was an amazing read, Shadow theif is uber impressive in this, and that regeneration panel looked really fantastic. Kate defining her own rules really works for me, and I like the noncheesy respect that Firehawk gave up to Manhunter. Kate's stance that she wants to give the system a chance works well for her and her day job. She wants to belive the system can work but in her heart she knows it doesnt always.

I really like the concept of Manhunter's costume getting lots of updates, and Kate finding out about them on the fly. Its something that shows that Dylan isnt jsut sitting on his hands and is actively a part of this book even when he isnt on panel that much.

And really the best part of this was Kate tricking shadow thief pretending to be injured, mostly because I bought into it too, I thought she was headed for the roof to get some more space, not pulling Karl in to give him an upclose and personal blast.

The flirting between Manhunter and Dylan was really cute... it really is starting to develop into a really cool rhythm between those two. The exhusband's phone call was extremely well done and really showed abit about how tough a divorce can be on more then one level.

Dumas... that guy looks brutal, I am itching to know more. I cant wait for next month, another fantastic issue.

Words freaking fail me to express how much I like this book.
It is without a question, the only comic book that I anticipate each month with fervor and devotion.
You know how sometimes we buy books out of love for a character, or because we are huge fans of certain creators or whatnot?
And sometimes we buy books out of long-time devotion to certain titles?
MANHUNTER is the one comic book that truly thrills me each and every month, the comic that makes me feel exactly how I felt as a kid reading those first-run issues of Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) or George Perez' New teen Titans or Chris Claremont's X-Men: Excitement, anticipation, thrills, wonder...
(and to think I hadn't even heard of Andreyko before I picked up MANHUNTER # 1, and I had never read any book of the previous manhunters...)

All I know is that if DC really nurtures and stays with this book, Kate could become an iconic character in comics.
IMO...
Congrats to Marc and everyone involved with this title...it's the best comic book read for my money, bar none.

I have been reading this book for 10 issues, now, and I think there is something missing as far as some of the scenes. Take issue 10, Kate can't get her staff, but SUDDENLY, she can get it by using the magnets in her gloves.

Now granted, I understand that her suit was upgraded, but if the reader ( as well as the person wearing the costume) don't know what it can do, then suddenly have it do something it didn't do before seems sort of contrived.

I am not saying that Marc just pulled a plot idea out of his ass, because I don't think that is the case. But, for some reason, it seems that this isn't the first time that things have wrapped up due to a previously unknown plot point, and it really takes away from the story, as far as myself is concerned.

In my head I think: "Nothing is ever going to happen to this lady, because some heretofore unknown thing is going to happen to make sure that events end up differently."

Probably not a fair assessment, but that is how I felt after reading this issue.

I posted this thing about Manhunters and Dumas/ Order of St. Dumas but no one responded. Now there he is active again. He's got one of the worst costumes ever, but he's dangerous. His appearance is unexpected though. I hope the metal mask Manhunter makes it because I'm just getting into his old series.
