I've plowed through the first arc and, while not necessarily reinventing the wheel, Carey's X-Men is fast, fun, and filled with unrelenting action and twists. Chris Bachalo's art, while confusing at times, captures the fury of the battle with these hyper evolved mutants.

I'm glad Marvel decided to place this in an OHC. It's a gorgeous package.

I don't have the HC, but I did buy this in singles when it was coming out.

I am fucking loving Carey's X-Men run.

Is there much for extras in the HC?

Not really. Just a few pages of Chris Bachalo sketches and costume designs. They're a cool page where it shows the contrast between the colors Bachalo initially uses and how it evolves when the colorists touch it up.

Carey's X-men beats out Whedon's and Morrison's in my opinion. Damn good stuff in there.

I would like to read the current x-men stuff, but I have no interest in buying them. I am pretty much burnt out on x-men comics. Can I borrow yours?

That's funny, 'cause your face sucks.

PS: Alysha's idea. Why you treading on her genius?

ditto.

I wish the art were a little better (I love Bachalo, but I think Ramos is totally wrong for X-Men).

Agreed on the Ramos art. I really wish Bachalo could have done all the issues.

I picked up both Supernovas and Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire at WW Chicago - both have been a really fun read.
