My shop, (Maverick's in Kettering, OH). Just has some of the coolest cats behind the counter any where. They may mess up on my holds sometimes, but if they do, they'll work their asses off to find replacements and sell them at cover price regardless other stores mark-ups. The owner has had the place running longer than I've been alive and is more enthusiastic now about comics than he's ever been. If your ever in the Dayton area, check 'em out. Good peeps.

You go to FRANKENSTEIN COMICS right? Bill Bead? Hah! Gotta love Bill, he's a hell of a guy!

I'm at Super-Hero City in Township, used to be Legends in the mall but they moved over. Good store, great owners, 20% off, 50% on back issue. Sweet set up...

Irv's store in Oaklyn right? It's like 10 minutes from my house, never knew until a few years ago. I would've definitley went there for convience, but I got real cool with the Legends guys. But Irv's a hell of a guy too, always got some good deals...I'll prob. swing by tomorrow & grab what hero-city misses :)

All about the people.

I either go to Midtown, (which has really nice people for such a busy, big store) or to my little local store with a nice local guy.

Yea, long story short the owners pulled the plug, but they're set up in Township now, it's a nice place...

My shops, I go to two, offer there comics for American cover price. That may not sound like a big deal for you Americans but it's a big deal up here. Also one sells there tpb at American cover price and the other discounts there's. I go to Grey Region comics and Silver Snail.

Chicago Comics (http://www.chicagocomics.com/) -- the best selection of small press. They had Geof Darrow last week and Jeff Smith will be there in April. And Jacen Burrows said it was a cool shop.

Amazing Fantasy (http://www.afbooks.com/)-- this is my weekly shop. A fair selection of small press (their Frankfort location has a lot more) and the owner is a good guy.

Chicago Comics is great and a big supporter of the indy books. Joe owns Amazing Fantasy and publishes Moonstone, right?

I just moved from Chicagoland to Iowa. Since I have two books coming out this year, I have been splitting time bewteen stores in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

Alter-Ego in Cedar Rapids (actually marion) is a great shop and the gal that owns it, Erin, is very supportive. She seems to go all out for Free Comic Book day. She advertises on TV, has a barabque, games and such. Daydreams in Iowa City is smack-dab in the middle of the University of Iowa campus and is huge. They do great business and since they are ordering like 50 copies each of my books...I love them. Regardless, cool people at both stores.

The books will be available through previews, so you can get them all over. Actually, it's funny, Joe passed on both titles at Moonstone. I couldn't believe it. Well, atl east he has the rights to Buckaroo Banzai. My books are coming out through Speakeasy and our good host here, mr. Oeming, even did a pin-up.

Speakeasy -- I just saw them in Previews tonight (hadn't heard of them before). JustJeffrey (from the Bendis board) did inks on one of their titles.

i go to the laughing ogre in columbus, ohio...

what makes it awesome?
Gib, behind the counter, and his promotion of the industry, especially indy titles.
