Untrue. I had no expectations. I was never a transformers fan as a kid, so I went in completely Tabula Rasa. My evaluation is that people who liked it went in with a vast preconception of what and who these characters were, and how they should be expected to behave. For those with no such preformed notions the movie made no sense whatsoever. Why were these robots individualized. What were there persopnalities and how were they formed? Why were some good and some bad. Why were all the new ones bad? Why do only the bad ones fly? Why are only the good ones such chatty cathies and the bad ones dont get any good lines? People who watched the cartoons knew the answers to these questions and weren't bothered by them. See what I mean?
