I am unhappy with the comic book shops in my area.

I see some Long Islanders here, anyone know any awsome shops on the island or in Queens? I don't want to go into Manhatten, and sometimes there are Indie books and stuff that I want to try that my two local stops don't get in.

I'm having trouble finding Glister for my girlfriend this week, and that from Image, its not even that Indie.

I know I could just do the Previews thing, but I have tried it before and...

a. I spend WAY too much money when I have a list of every single little cool thing shipping in a given month

and

b. Part of the joy of collecting is going to the shop on Wed. and picking out various titles that look cool. Picking up a bag is just lame.

So, uh, suggestions...

The comic shop in Smithtown is still there, 4th World Comics. Thats where I shops and it's the best.

There's also Best Comics out in New Hyde Park

Hope that helps

I'll third Fourth World Comics.

Collector's Kingdom on Jericho Tpke in Huntington just west of 110 is pretty good too.

There is also Bailey's in Lindenhurst which I normally go to (living in Babylon like I do) but in all honesty, Fourth World is better but it's a hike for me to get there.

I used to go to a place called the Catcher's Mit when I was a kid. I wonder if it's still there.
