They're ever popular, there's a new one every other week and I don't have a single effin' clue what they're supposed to be about...they are "The TIP threads"! I've tried to skim through one, just to get the jest of things...but it just seems an endless pile of in-jokes. What gives?

It's different things to different people.
It can be a game where you try to derail a thread constantly by introducing ongoing jokes.
It can be a chat thread.

The TIP threads are pretty much conversation threads. While many of us are good friends with each other, both online and off, there's no intentional snobbery or "cool kids table" mentality. Come on in and say hello, post a non-sequitur or two, enjoy the silly.

Isn't that what the WHOLE BOARD is for...?
:rogue:
Yes and no.
If threads were created every time someone had a singular thought not related to comics but more in the stream-of-counciousness or conversational way that posts go in the TIP thread, then this board would be innundated with threads about stuff like:
"What should I eat for lunch?"
"I just bought/saw [insert videogame/movie name that already I saw all these threads about] and it's great."
"No one likes me"
"I'm NOT an attention whore"
"Monkeys are awesome pets"
So it's probably better that the TIP thread keeps that stuff from getting out of hand.

Exactly!
How do they get the holes out of the pig?
We'll make it through not talking extensively about the Enchantress together somehow. We just have to take things one day at a time, and hope against hopes that we have the strength to make it a week, a month, maybe even years without talking extensively about the Enchantress. And who knows, maybe someday Marvel will become a corporation with a catalogue of characters it has to use or risk losing their copyrights to those characters. Maybe someday Marvel will publish a book called Thor, and use his supporting cast in the stories they tell. And maybe, just maybe, Enchantress will appear again.

Well, the Captain was more a regular than a core member. She would be closer to core AAl/ TIP thread than kubiak thread.
Though for a brief while, she would've counted a one in one or two threads now that I think of it
When I said core, I meant from thread 1, almost to the end though

It's like an unresolved issue that will eat away at us for all time!

If you take every 4th word of every 15th post in those threads and uncramble them you will find the knights of the templar treasure. Its true. Therefore it had to be locked.

Congratulations, this one's all on you.
It is evident that as these threads grow members seem to think it creates some type of anonymity that allows them to be negative, insulting, rude, etc.
That's not how it works. I would like this community to be a place of acceptance, trust, friendship...all the good things. Not a place where this group picks on that group and badmouths this other group. I don't think I'm expecting too much.
