View Full Version : Ms Marvel Cover #19
MS MARVEL # 19 Yeah Buddy! This is the cat fight we've all been waiting for--and I know Brian Reed will not disappoint us-- unlike the "fight" between Ms. Marvel and Arachnae that never materialized and depressed all of us for a month, these chicks will go at it in a no-holds-barred, knuckle-bustin', face bashing free-fer-all. Its going to be great! Many thanks to Bill Rosemann who explained how Tigra's tail has to go through that little hole!

I thought you guys might find this interesting: Here is the Tigra cover one day before the Previews guide deadline. Breed had told me that the battle would take place near a mine in a jungle, so I whipped up the jungle scene just in time. Anyway, its amazing the difference a good background can make!

Your Ms. Marvel covers are great. As I mentioned before, reason enough to pick up the book. Although looking at your Elektra and Emma Frost covers, I still think you are making Ms. Marvel a cup size small...it's just me though. And the 1,000's of people leaning over my shoulder nodding in agreeement as I type this.
Although I if forced to choose, I still think your best cover to date is the cover to Emma Frost where it's raining and she's looking through a window. #12 or something like that? It looks great and tells a story all by itself.
So GH, if you had to pick a few of your faves, what would they be?

You must be reading my mind-- i was just thinking about this the other day! On Ms Marvel #12 and #13 I made Carol very...uh..."healthy". Then on 14 and 15 she is not as big. Then 16 - 18 we are back to big again. and then 19 and 20 back to small! What the hell is wrong with me!? I apologize profusely for this grevious inconsistency. I've already got the go ahead to rework Ms M #20 before it goes to print. Issue #21 will please everyone. From now on my motto is "Go Big, Baby!"

The one you are talking about is Emma Frost #6, but my favorite is the "top-down" shot on #5.

Adam Hughes gave me a compliment on Emma #5 once, so that pushes it waaay over the top for me.
Elektra #3 is another favorite--you've probably seen that one on tons of merchandise.
Believe it or not, my most popular piece of art work has no boobies on it whatsoever! THE BIG PICTURE for Wizard mag!

Oh yeah, that Emma Frost one is a good one. No surpise Hughes likes it. It has one of those radical viewing angles that he likes.
That movie theater one is a good laugh. Was that a cover? I never saw it before, but it does kick ass.
As for my fave, somehow in my mind I had combined the one of Emma looking through the glass as it rains and the one where she is younger and looking into the costume shop and sees a white queen-ish outfit.

You draw women so damn well. I hate looking at them because they look hotter than a lot of actual women and I am almost ashamed to think that.
Yeah, That was the very last issue #18. The entire time I was doing the covers for Emma Frost, I was expecting that we would get to the Hellfire Club chapter eventually (being that the series was about Emma Frost's origin I thought this was a logical assumption!) But, as it turned out, all 18 issues were pre-Hellfire, so i never got to paint her in the corset-style White Queen outfit (so angry!!!). Anyway, I figured with the last issue, i'd have her looking in a shop window at the outfit-- like a harbinger of things to come!
I hope one day they will do a series on her HellFire Club days. I'd love to work on it.

So if you could combine the cover of 6 and 18, there you go. Magic! Ah, never mind...I already did it in my head.
I think they will be smart enough to go to you if they pick up the Emma Frost story again. Right?
