Anyone else picking this up? What do you think of it so far?

It's pretty good. I wouldn't fault someone for trade-waiting, though.

I really like it. I'm the first to admit that I wasn't too happy with the idea before but even then admitted to giving it a shot based solely on my love of the New Warriors. So far it's really good.

It's giving me a Young Avengers vibe. I like that vibe.

Same here! Generation X for me was really; "JUBILEE!! and her assorted sidekicks", so it's very nice to have her back.

I'm shocked at how much I liked the first issue, but the second fell off a lot for me.

I think jubilee coming into it made things so much better. I happen to be growing up with her character. I didnt really read a lot of stuff with her but we're growing up around the same time.

You think they'll ever get around to trading the first 25 issues of Volume 1? Cause I'd totally buy that! And I own all the issues, too.

Oh, I'm happy Jubilee's there. I love the character(and the presence of Winddancer made me squee), but the dialogue and plotting seemed to be a lot weaker with issue two.

It's great if you're an x-fan - lots of great characters that got thrown aside by House of M get back into the limelight - Sofia, Beak, Jubilee. Also, Paco Medina is one of the great underrated superhero artists out there right now.

It's paced a bit slowly though. It's got that slow build, character-oriented style of the Jemas days.

Marvel also seems to be on young team overload - New Warriors, Young Avengers, Avengers Initiative, New X-Men, Runaways. Too many.

true, the pacing is a little different, but I think that's something that will never be permnant.

I only read the first issue. Thought it was so-so. Marvel kinda ruined the big reveal at the end.

I am getting the series for now. It really seems too much Gen-x with the inclusion of Night Thrasher. While I do like the charecters it just seems like it should be more of an x-title then an actual new warriors.

I will give it till probably issue 5 to see if it improves. While I like Jubilee and Thrasher (got his very first mini) just not really feeling a lot of love for it.

This may also be a lil biased due to team book overload.

The Mandarin

Perhaps true, but this being Gen-X+Night Thrasher isn't really a minus to me. I liked Gen-X. And New Warriors to me was like, meh, who cares? Really I started to read this for Jubilee's sake. If Marvel can use her to make me like Night Thrasher or whoever, well gratz to them.

I'm really loving it though I know nothing about the former mutants. I'm a fan of the NW from their first run. I hope that there are some elements included coming up that really makes it more relevant to the name.

But honestly, the concept is great, and though I picked it up for the New Warriors name, I'm really enjoying it so far and plan to get it as long as it comes out. It has a lot of interesting possibilities with the Initiative, Avengers and T-bolts.

Post CW Marvel is a really really interesting place. Hope it stays this way for a long time.

Fair enough. Too each their own and all that. Never really got into GenX myself. Always felt Jubilee should not have been demoted back to school personally.

This is very true. Probably why I am still keeping NW for now. I would not mind seeing them face up against the big leagues. Plus it is always nice to see some of the B stringers get the spotlight. Provided of course the writer can pull it off.

Pretty good so far, so long as it doesn't become just another X-title in spirit.

I'm still disappointed by the book, to be honest. I like the concept well enough, but the writing's pretty bad, imo. The dialog's weak, the story feels choppy, and I don't like how all these characters keep coming back in a completely different way without any explanation.

And Jubilee's new set of jugs scares me.

I blame Tony Stark. When SHIELD took her into custody, I bet he stuck her in some kind of Super Soldier Chest Expansion Program.

I think its only a 5 issue mini series.

I really liked issue 1, but 2 left me a little flat. And I agree that Marvel's going overboard with the team books. I dropped Omega Flight after an issue, and The Order is gonna have to blow me away to keep me coming back. I'm sticking with the Warriors through this, its kept me intrigued.

You only rebuild something from ashes to destroy it. Stuff is only destroyed in the first place because some one thought that that would be fun. So mark my words how funny ass it is going to be when Hank Pym finally thinks that he's treading water that then it is time for Dan Slott to kick him in the nuts somehow. The Initiative will continue to rock. :)

I was beginning to think that the Order had become lost in the shuffle? What since after even the name change in all, that it wasn't having trouble getting out of the gate?

Why are they naming themselves after 4 Psychotic lunatics who tried to take over the Earth?

there was an image floating around awhile back of the new team members and one of them had the apocalypse mouth. in the newest issue of new warrios when we see the team in the shadows one of them looks like he has his mouth wrapped up like chamber used to in the generation x days.

Well truth be told I wouldn't have Cared if Her Comic Existence had Ended in Origins. But just like Keith Giffen made me like Thanos, Maybe this book will make me not want to push her under a bus.

HMMMMMMMMMMM.

I hope to hell if it IS him he's wrapping up his face to hide his Apocalypse Mouth (God I  saying that! If I had a band, they'd SO be called that!) and that Marvel doesn't ignore one of the best decisions they've made on the part of Chamber since the Weapon X days.

Yeah, he lost his powers and was on life support. Then, it turns out he's actually a descent of Apocalypse, and through comic book magic got an Apocalypse makeover. He has a mouth and chest cavity now, both covered in Apoc's trademark, uh, markings.

Chamber's ancestory was revealed in X-Men: Apocalypse Vs Dracula 1-4.

Chamber's transformation was in New Excalibur 9.

Frank Teri wrote them all. It's a shame he's at DC now, he was really building to something there.

Unknown. Chamber mysteriously vanished after getting the body upgrade and hasn't been seen since.

I know Tieri had big plans for him though, with all the work he was going through creating a backstory like that.

Just read the first two issues. I really dug the cover, was curious about the writer, but the story was just kind of meh. I was hoping for more build-up of this group working covertly, slowly developing it, but instead they are the HOT new group in the MU.

I'll give it a few more issues, but if it doesn't pick up soon I'll drop it (though if I hear good things would be willing to pick up future trades).
