Does this sort of stuff upset you at all?

No it doesn't at all. The fact that people are willing to shell out big bucks for my art is a good thing ...Isn't it? When i sell art to collectors, I always have the expectation that one day they might resell the original art, and that doesn't bother me. Some artists are really touchy about con sketches being sold...and i can kind of understand that because a con sketch is drawn for a person on request. Its much more personal than a piece of original art that has already been done for a commissioned job, you know?
Even though i don't mind resale, a die-hard "cherish it forever" guy certainly ranks higher in my opinion than guys who simply buy and sell. But, I don't think sellers are bad guys, and many times they help out artists by showing and proving the value of their art (monetarily at least!).

Still, you gotta start eBaying your own stuff at these prices.

It seems most artist like yourself feel the same way. They don't mind the published stuff but when it's personal sketches or freebies, it seems to tick them off. Jim Lee was doing some great sketches in KC this year & I overheard him ask 'this isn't going on ebay is it?'
I would consider myself one of those 'die hard' art collectors & I'm looking forward to possibly/finally getting a sketch from you at Chicago this year.
Also, do you sell your own art at cons or do you use a dealer?

$3675! I think you're right, Bittz! I still have She-Hulk #1 just sitting around collecting dust. hmmm...

I'd think that people who didn't like commissions sold would put a "To ______" on it.

Wow. Is someone forking out that much dough just for the pencils or is it a hand-painted piece? I thought you did all the colors digitally...
Yep, That's just for the pencils... i still have all my old airbrushing equipment, though!

I still have all my old airbrushing equipment, though!Ever feel an urge to do any hand painting/airbrush stuff again?
I get the urge to airbrush a few times a year. My problem is: digital painting affords me a sizable speed boost over traditional painting. And I almost always have some crazy deadlines to contend with-- I just did 9 covers in the 4 weeks leading up to San Diego comicon. It was completely insane--and if I deviate from my gameplan for just one painting, my whole schedule is blown. Raw speed has been a critical element to my success the last few years, and I never seem to get to a spot where i can say "today, i will airbrush!" I'm a total speed freak now, and everything is too slow...internet, computers, traffic, people....ALL TOO SLOW!!!
