They weren't habaneros then.

Yeah, I'm thinking the store labels them wrong...they're only marginally hotter than jalapenos. They're small and orange, which COULD be Habanero, but...

I dunno, some people can eat Habaneros like candy. My dad eats them almost daily, my little sister does too. I've never been able to, though.

Maybe they just don't bother me...YOU WERE WRONG, WILLIELEE

I wonder if they'll have any bad effects if I eat a lot of them...

Yeah you might be one of those people who can just take spicy food no problem. Or you could be eating bad peppers.

I say you try to stuff all of them into your mouth at once just to see what happens! And film it so we can see, cause i'm curious :p like pepsi and mentos, my friend! Pepsi and mentos! :D

not all habaneros are created equal, some are just way hotter than others. could be the batch, could be the area they were grown in.

Well, next time I'm at the store, I'll get some more and hope its a hotter batch.

Well, they do range from 100-300 scoville units. So you might have gotten the mild ones. You can get sauces that are much, much hotter.

Peppers in sauce form seem weird to me. What am I gonna dip in them?

Drink it straight out of the bottle.

I think Dave's Ultimate insanity is the hottest I've had, and they used Habanero extract. It tasted like fire in my mouth. I've had habaneros before, and it's not as hot as Dave's hot sauce.

Track down Naga Jolokia peppers if you want something really hot.

Look for Blairs Hot Sauce. On line, they have beauties like Ass Blaster and Death. Some are so hot they can't be eaten- too much Capsaicin(sp.)

I seem to remember Anaheim peppers being way hotter.

The Anaheim pepper or New Mexican pepper is a pepper, ranging from 500 and 2,500 on the Scoville scale of chile "heat."[1]

From Wikipedia.

Or maybe not!

Most habaneros will rate between 200,000 and 300,000 Scoville units. Several growers have attempted to selectively breed habanero plants to produce hotter, heavier, and larger peppers. The Red Savina pepper™ is one such cultivar of the habanero pepper that has a very high Scoville rating.

Be careful, this may happen to you if you eat hot peppers.

What a great fucking episode, though!

Although now I can't get the intro to Ring of Fire out of my head.

Hey Afny, which store are you going to?

If you are talking just your average megamart, that may be some of the issue.. I would try tracking down the little latin marts, or the local farmers markets. The stuff you find there will be fresher and chances are a lot hotter..

Additionally, there are little peppers called something like tears of heaven.. They are a little bigger then a teardrop I would say, and I have watched them make a grown "manly man" cry like a little school girl.

Personally, I would avoid taking massive amounts of peppers, but in small to moderate doses they have been known to be insanely healthy for you.

The hottest sauce I've ever owned was Blair's Megadeath hot sauce, which is sold with a nifty skull key chain. It is 550,000 scoville units, and I had to stick my mouth under the faucet for ten minutes after having a drop.
