We get it, she's missing. It's horrible and sad and I hope she's found and everybody can be happy again. But this is getting fucking ridiculous though, not to mention really really jarring when I'm reading about the return of Jubilee only to be socked in the stomach by the GIGANTIC CLOSE UP OF A MISSING KID TURNED MEDIA CELEBRITY.

That is all.

Oh well, I'm not one to usually bitch about spoilers man, but you might want to edit and leave some space or wrap spoiler tages around the last part of the post.

Yeah, how dare they put something about a 3 year old kid being missing right at a point where people wouldn't skim over it, but as an result, meant you had to turn one whole extra page for the BIG REVEAL!!!

Yeah, I'm sure they were really giving much thought to "Shouldn't we put THIS page first? Or maybe THIS page" and not "Y'know, if we put it here, people will definitely see it and maybe, just maybe, someone who knows something will be one of them" :?

A three year old girl has been abducted, and last it was thought, was quite probably snatched by a ring of international child abductors who then sell the kids to the makers of child pornography. Show some bloody compassion and turn that extra page to get your big reveal without getting uppity about "OMG, teh effort of turning the paaaage" :?

Thousands of kids go missing all the time, when the world cares about one so much that they ignore the others, that's where my problems begin. She's the patron saint of the rich cute white kid getting the overblown press.

It's overkill. Why don't Richard Bransen and JK Rowling and anyone else in the world make an attempt to save multiple kids instead of just one, eh?

But as usual on these boards as of the past few weeks, knee-jerk reactions of shock and horror instead of actually thinking things through. Emotion shouldn't cloud logic, it doesn't belong in a comic book, plain and simple.

I wish the best for the McCanns, but im not going to have my life bombarded with this, which it is. I cant turn on a TV or go to a website or anything without the "OH NO MADDIE" stuff. Fuck the other little kids though, right? We gotta all get together and save Maddie!

And in case you don't know, they purposely put those kind of pages on the left side so that you won't spoil it for yourself by wandering over to the right page. And I thought I had gotten numb to complaints about ads, but I was just proved wrong.

Aaah, I get it. So you wouldn't have minded if it was a kid from a poorer family. Riiiiiiiight, gotcha. Well in that case, since the eyes of the industry apparently read this board, I'll help out and say...

... Keep up with the adverts. Print 'em twice even. Print 'em in the trades too. Because a 3 year old child who might possibly, at the time, be being subjected to christ knows what by truly sick people, is missing. And this could help. Well done on this ad campaign, and I hope you keep it up until she's found.

Who she comes from is fucking irrelevant man. She's 3 years old. Show a bit of class. If it bothers you, at least have the compassion to not bitch about having to see something that might save this girl an unimaginable amount of torment, or worse. If it makes you feel any better, something like this could actually go some way to making a bigger impact on the search for other missing children. If you showed some support, maybe... just MAYBE things would improve.

Really, I hope as a parent or any sort or relation you're never in this situation. If you were, well, suddenly that "one kid" would mean everything to you and I highly doubt you'd give a shit that efforts to help find said kid may irk a fanboy in Iowa.

1) I think much of the intial "knee-jerk reaction" stuff came from the fact that you spoiled a major reveal in a comic most of us hadn't read yet.

2) I don't think anyone took your post as a fuck you to the kid and I think you need to turn up your sarcasm detector.

Let me restate, there's looking for your kid, and then there's being media whores. If the McCanns didnt make multi-million dollar deals with Virgin Enterprises and J.k. Rowling after irresponsibly leaving their kid alone in a hotel room in Portugal late at night, then maybe i'd have more sympathy for the advertising bombardment.

What is relevant is how many other 3 year olds get completely ignored by the media for not being cute and rich. That's not an argument against putting efforts toward rescuing the "cute" and "rich" kids. What you're suggesting is that there be MORE lost kid ads in comics. I think it's a great idea!

Well I'm fucking glad that if I ever have a child, and he/ she goes missing, I'm truly fucking ELATED that you will have absolutely no bloody say in what gets shown where and at what time. A message about information about a missing child belongs WHEREVER someone, ANYONE, can see it.

And obviously, you don't wish them the best. Seeing as how you seem to want to limit the amount of time the story of their missing 3 YEAR OLD is, or where they can let people know.

If it's a choice between showing some emotion, or using your particular brand of logic, I think I'll stick to emotion. My life will be better for knowing people might actually help a child over who the hell joins a superhero team in a comic.

He personally knows what the McCanns do day to day and have found out that they are not in constant pain and sorrow over their 3 year old's disapearance, but instead are taking in the money, having a grand old time, sitting back, enjoying life and loving all the attention they're getting.

1.We have no idea if they killed her daughter

2.At the end of the day, being pissed at the parents of a missing kid, because it somehow "ruined" your comic reading experience is incredibly selfish. I try not to go on a moral high horse, but I dont care who you pray to, who you vote for, who you have sex with, but caring more that your reading of New Warriors was somehow hurt because an add for a missing girl was included is selfish.

If you didn't notice it when you saw it, it didn't do it's job. They could have done a better job of presenting the whole thing. Looking at it, I don't see why I would believe it to be real, or rather some sort of new viral advertising for something else.
