It's MILLER TIME! Two very literal translations of Frank's best work from the 90's. Which is the better comic film?

This one is tough for me...I want to vote for Sin City because it is really incredible some of the stuff that is pulled off in that film to make it look and feel like the book...particularly some of the usage of negative black and white...but there are some parts of Sin City that are dreadful (Michael Madsen) and some departures that don't work (Alba being a stripper who doesn't get naked). Where as 300 is Miller's best work in 15 years IMO and not only does the film get everything right, the things added work very well in the context of fleshing out the story for a film.

Hmm...I'm torn...but leaning towards 300.

300 was average, Sin City was great.

Tough one..But GOTTA go with SIN CITY just for the Hot Chick factor alone...
Ok, and the movie was overall slightly better...

This matchup kinda makes sense. I suppose it was bound to happen, mathematically speaking.

I loved both to pieces. Sin City though is the better movie.

I went for 300 and perhaps because I just saw it again recently on the big screen, but I think 300 just works so well on the big screen and even though it was so awesome to see Sin City translated literally, 300 really moves you by the end. Sin City never really does that outside the Yellow Bastard being turned into Lemonade with pulp.

Sin City is innovative and intense.
300 is innovative and emotionally engaging and uplifting.

Gotta go with 300.

This is madness.

This. Is. Miller!

There is no wrong answer to this poll, either movie is acceptable.

Toughest one yet. I went with 300. Although Sin City kicked ass, the parts without Marvin were really just ok.

Very well put. I think the 300 movie was actually better than the comic, while Sin City's comic was better than the movie.

Never seen either, but 300 is the only one I ever plan to see, so 300.

You were dying to use that "It's Miller Time" line, weren't you?

Only from the moment I first noticed that their seeding matched them up pretty early on.

I enjoyed Sin City more, although it's a close thing. The visual elements of Sin City were so striking and worked so well, plus I'm a noir fan from way back.

This vote might just be because I liked the GNs of Sin City WAY more than 300, but so be it.

DAMN!!!! Another toughy!!! A movie fool of memorable moments and Bad Ass characters or a movie full of non-stop action sequences and the worlds smallest costume department :heybaby: I have to go with Sin City there just wasn't a character I didn't think was cool.

EDIT: Hey!!! They got rid of the grope smiley!!! :(

If I wasn't such a sword and sandal movie lover, I'd go with Sin City. Both are good movies, but my bias has won out.

Yes, I let my love of great movies trump my love of hot guys in loincloths . . . :p

I don't really care which wins, I like them about as much as each other. I went 300 because I guessed it would have the least votes :)

See... I had this conversation with my friends the minute we stepped out of 300.

Both movies had their little bouts of overacting that I had to overlook, neither of which took away from their enjoyment factor. Both were amazing.

In the end, 300 was just as riveting as Sin City, but the story felt... lacking... somewhere.

Sin City takes it.

Both were technically amazing and artistically terrible. Neither gets my vote and if Sin City wins the best comic book movie final, that will depress me.

If you think swearing makes a script good, you'll love. I'd also recommend Boondock Saints as it is totally badass.

Sin City is enjoyable on mute.

Gotta go with Sin City...however this was a REALLY hard choice. almost voted for 300...but I think Sin City was a better comic adaptation.

Granted, swearing can get annoying after a while AND the movie could have benifited from a few choice edits here.

I just think the entire film is laughable in it's macho posturing. It's like Frank Miller thought: "what would it be like if my cock wrote a comic?" and then wrote that.

True, but I guess it's just a matter of personal taste. It's interesting for what it is.

Oh yeah the only reason I like Sin City more is because it has that attitude WITHOUT the completely butchered history. Don't get me started on 300.

Oh they changed alot of details . . . like when he insults the Athenians by calling them "boy lovers" is a good place to start and Xerxes and other various things. Of Course if Miller had stayed true to History it would be even more homoerotic than it already is . . . battles sequences nonwithstanding.
