First issue had the complete contents of Avengers #1, followed by Mike's painted back-up story with Dwayne McDuffie (funny as hell story) and another back-up by Stan Lee and Kevin Maguire. oh, and a really slick cover by Art Adams!

I love seeing the old stories reprinted on quality paper. Hopefully they do something like this for the old Iron Man stuff too.

Wow! All we ever get is complaints when we have reprints on the glossy paper. Waaah! The colours are too bright! Waaah! They weren't meant to look like that!! Waaaaaaaaaah! ;-) :-P

Nice to hear someone likes it this way. (Personally, I do too, the bright colours seem pretty appropriate for the old stuff to me...)

Man, I love how Oeming draws the old Avengers. I was gonna point out how great the Thor looks but then I realized how sweet Iron man is and then Hulk..and so on...

hey i love the glossy paper. i like the brightness. if i wanted the dull rough paper i'd go spend a gazillion dollars in back issues.

Paper schmaper. Water colors make me far happier than cold, heartless computer art. Again, I like my artwork to bleed.

I love this new trend in reprints of classic MARVEL COMICS.
The OLD and the NEW combined in one FUN package.

There were NEW and CLASSIC covers on alternating issues of the recent Ditko SPIDER-MAN reprints.
I'm talking about the 24 issue series that appeared recently as newspaper inserts.

Now we have this AVENGERS CLASSIC featuring CLASSIC and NEW stories.
Really excellent new covers too. The upcoming cover of AVENGERS CLASSIC #2 is the best ever!
Very cool. I'm on board for the entire run.

Now we need a FANTASTIC FOUR CLASSIC series with-perhaps-painted covers.
Starting with the ROSS painted version of FANTASTIC FOUR #1.

I'd buy 10 copies of every issue of FANTASTIC FOUR CLASSIC.
