Remember when Marvel released The Brotherhood with a writer pseudonym of X? Has that ever been revealed? Any hints?

Howard Mackie, I believe.

I think the common consensus was that it was Howard Mackie. Not sure if it was ever officially confirmed, though.

I don't think it has ever been said, so any answers are just guesses.

Maybe we can ask the internet comic mythbusters on CBR for an answer.

Re-reading this series right now. I don't think it could possibly be Howard Mackie. The writing style does not compare to some of his work just a year prior on Mutant X and Spider-Man. Those books were pretty awful. Brotherhood started out really good. Maybe it was Joe Casey? He had also started his Uncanny X-Men run around that time and the writing is more his style.

One issue is listed in the X-Statix omnibus, so that issue at least is written by Peter Milligan, presumably. Perhaps it was Milligan all along, or perhaps it was multiple writers.

I'm pretty sure that issue is in the X-Statix omnibus because it really is the only other appearance of X-Force in the whole entirety of the Marvel U. Might as well include it for completionist's sake.
