I love me some Coipel artwork.
Never would have thought I'd be so interested in a Thor book.

I've never seen Olivier's stuff look this good. This surpasses even his House Of M stuff in my book.
Can't Wait.

Damn...that actually looks pretty good. It doesn't really give me a feel for what the book will be like but it's good.

Heck, it's JMS that makes me want this title (and Coipel). After Amazing Spider-Man, Supreme Power and Midnight Nation, this man can do no wrong.

this preview is looking much better than i expected. but i remain skeptical. coipel is a fucking freakshow genius, he's so good.

Was that in Vol.2 Thor series or in the original. If it's that good I'd like to get the issues. Do you possibly know the issue numbers too?

I would say that Simonson's run is the best Thor story ever, but I've only read the first visionaries trade.
Anyway...I've noticed a few things... to me, it still looks like he might be missing his eyes. I really hope he is. Also, someone who was already there...how are they going to explain Don Blake being there for no reason? Wasn't he basically erased from reality when Odin took the enchantment off his hammer?

I'm worried about the decompression in those pages. JMS typically writes meaty comics, so when he's doing all those pointless splash pages, it's obvious marvel's making him write for trade. And like with ultimate power, the result is just kinda awkward.
I hope I'm wrong, though.

It could have no dialogue and I'd still buy it.

I'm hoping its just those pages...

Oh, I didn't think a single one of those pages had wasted space. You want a God to return in 2 pages of 9 panel grids?
I hate decompression. But this isn't a good example.
It needed scale.

I'm thinking it's just those pages. After the last one with the big flash, we'll see that page that was circulating through the internet a while back, the one with Thor standing in his new costume and saying, in a normal word balloon, that he is Thor, God of Thunder and so and so. Then it's standard comic book fare.
