Living in Alexandria, VA this summer, I took a trip to Springfield to do some clothes shopping for my job (since its cheaper) and stopped by Nova Comics. Picked up the Boys trade paperback since it caught my eye and they recommended it, and also managed to dig up Amazing Spiderman 400. Looking forward to some fun reading tonight.

Anyone recommend any other great stores in the area? The Phoenix Comics store looks amazing. But I can't figure out the address, where is the Landsdowne Shopping Center? Landsdowne doesn't come up as a town in Google Maps.

You should be close enough to make the pilgramige to the Denny Comic Library in Lexington, KY.

Where'd you end up living?

There's a Phoenix Comics in fairfax, directly across from GMU in university mall.

I live on South Washington street in Alexandria. Whats the one in Fairfax like? Is that the one in the picture on their website?

I dig a place with a huge selection of trades, and the one in the picture looks to be pretty amazing.

Yes, yes it is the one in the picture. It's in way better shape then it was 3 years or so ago. They bought it from the previous owner, and its improved immensely.

I would go hit up Lord Retail's shop in NC if you are close enough.

There was/is a nice comic store in Burke, Va where I used to shop when I went to Mason.

There is a nice store in Falls Church, too.

Another Universe, located in Springfield Mall, was a toy store with comics.

Georgetown had a nice comic store, too.

(Really, its been 10 years or so...) I think I remember a comics store on Duke Street right outside Old Town Alexandria.

There is a nice store in Falls Church, too. Still there.

Another Universe, located in Springfield Mall, was a toy store with comics. Closed about 8 years ago or so.

Georgetown had a nice comic store, too. Still there, also a branch in Germantown, MD.

(Really, its been 10 years or so...) I think I remember a comics store on Duke Street right outside Old Town Alexandria. No clue.

NC isn't close at all :-P

Thanks for the info on the Falls Church one. I think I'll visit there sometime soon. It's not super close, but driving there wouldn't take too long and I think it'd be worth it.
