View Full Version : Why doesn't Joss Whedon make a Runaways movie?

Okay, granted it's not as easy to make a movie as my thread title suggests, but he seems like a perfect choice. I have three issues left of Vaughan's run and then Whedons issues to read, but he seems like a logical choice. I doubt the movie would cost a fortune so...really. What's stopping them? I'm dissapointed this isn't happening. Agree?

Joss Whedon should make a lot of movies that he isn't making.

I don't think Runaways should be a movie, really. It's not written to be a movie, and there is no way even one arc would fit comfortably in a feature film. Maybe a Miniseries, but even that is pushing it.

Not enough interest. And he'd probably prefer making brand new characters.

BKV is on the board right now. Maybe he'll see this thread. :)

Why does Joss write strong female characters?

Joss Whedon should flap his arms like a chicken and poop gold nuggets.

Don't think its' gonna happen though.

He says his mom is cool or something.

Hmm...it seems like what I thought was a brilliant idea is, in fact, not so much of a brilliant idea...my b?

(I'm just saying I'd still be pumped for it and would see it...but I felt that way about X-Men 3 also...)

This is how I feel about both Runaways and Y The Last Man. Although, the first HC of Runaways would make for a story nicely wrapped up... Y doesn't really have that to offer

He says his mom is cool or something.

(it was a joke. Joss hates that question)

He did answer it by saying it's because of his mom, though. Or so I hear.

Eight minutes? I'm not gonna watch that!

I will, however, post this link, wherein Whedon credits his mom for influencing his feminist views:
