Hey Dave, or any other artists who are reading, how do you get in the mood to draw when you can't seem to focus. Maybe I've got ADD or something.

Think about the paycheck!
Seriously, there is nothing wrong with having a block or not being able to concentrate
(well it depends on how bad is your case). I work about 10 hours every day in the drawing table and take breaks every 30 minutes or so. I also use every excuse that I can find to get up and move a little bit.
Another thing that you can do is try to change what you have to do today. For example, if you have to pencil a page today, ink one instead or something like that. If you continue to have this problem, try to spend some time away from drawing, like taking a day off.
Oh, and about ADD.
ADD is a neurological disease that, tough it still canīt be cured, there were a lot of improvements in the last decade and, if treated, you can have a normal life.
If you really think that you have ADD, you should try seeing a doctor, they have tons of tests and experience and they will be able to see if you have it or not.

I would listen to Vic, definately....
I'm sure you don't have ADD though.
It can be really tough to sit and work everyday, but the best way I know of is to set clearly defined goals, and know what you want to accomplish on a daily basis. It has to be a priority for you. For me, I set my alarm for 7:00 each morning, and I try to get my work done before I do anything else.

I was just kidding about the ADD thing...
But thanks for the advice about getting to work. The only pitfall is I work all day and by the time I get home I'm usually pretty wiped.

May I ask... what time do you STOP drawing, dave?
