Serious? Awesome. You'd actually be surprised at some of the high quality books I've put in the dollar bin I have, they just never caught on.

I've only been in biz for less than two years, I don't have a ton of unsold stuff where I have to sell them for a quarter...yet.
Shoppe? Hmmm....I like that, it's kind of classy.

When I kicked my shops back issues down to 50 cents, they had some FANTASTIC stuff in there. I pulled out Sin City issues, Eric Powels first work, complete run of V for Vendetta, lots of Bone, some JInx and old Caliber Kabuki along with a PILE of Dark Horse Presents, Caliber Presents and several other fantastic titles.

remember the Reign of the Supermen with the four fake Supermen. got the first issue of each false Superman (all four) for a buck. in perfect shape like they'd been perfectly preserved and not even bagged.

Glad you like it, although I tried to balance the rest of the sentence out with a healthy dose of improper contraction.

If I see "Orbit Comics Shoppe" in your sig, though, I'll expect a royalties cheque.

Last ones I got were a couple issues of "Mad Dog" from Marvel/Ace comics...

From the Tv show where Bob Newhart played a silver age comic artist who's creation was getting an "Extreme" 90's style makeover... Each issue is half silver age style & half a commentary on the brooding 90's anti-hero.

I dig them.

You guys are getting kickass finds, I havn't had luck like Goddard or Jeffery since I was in highschool & hit the Chaykin motherload in the quarter bins.... American Flagg, Shadow, Midnight men, Blackhawk.... it was fucking beautiful.

Is that what Mad Dog was about? The irony and humor is completely lacking from their covers.

Yeah the covers are pretty generic. But I think they were just coasting on the TV tie-in & not so much concerned with the concept... wich is a shame.

Awesome! My shop got the whole run of Black kiss when I was working there in High School, they wouldn't sell it to me nor would they hold it until I was old enough... They threw them in the dollar bin.

Up until last year I could only ever find 3 issues. Then my new place sold me the Trade for $5.

Don't get me wrong, they're not brilliant or anything... Just clever & the art on the silver age stuff is cool.

I hit a convention in East Hartford last year, and got almost a complete run of Power Man and Iron Fist and the original Marvel Team Up in the "ten for a dollar" boxes. :)

Did the same thing a few years back with Vigilante and Batman & the Outsiders

Which versions? The special cut-out cover thing, or the the normal covers?

(I got mine in the cheap bins too.)

I think the last thing I got from a bargain bin (our lowest is $1aus) was a couple of issues of Marvel Two-In-One - including an issue with Spider-Woman! :D

That was a few years ago, though. :p

i did the exact same thing with Power Man and Iron Fist. It was a real small convention, but i got maybe issues 60-125 for very, very few dollars.

Isn't that just about the best feelings in the world? Spending 20 bucks or so and having a couple hundred comics to read? God DAMN that makes me happy. :)

i know exactly what you mean. coming home with a mountain of comics, but money in my wallet is amazing.

on a somewhat related note, i gave a friend of mine a ride home yesterday, and apparently her older sister had been big into comics for a few years.

i got maybe 60 comics, mostly bat-girl, spider-girl, and super-girl, but still, comics.

Bunch of Uncanny's, Marvel comics Presents, Frank miller's Ronin, Daredevil's and loads of other great stuff.

There are always these two dealers that are letting really high quality books go for super cheap. Ofcourse not all of its great. Only the stuff i get...

PS. they're dollar bins but since i'm in Canada i guess thats like a quarter American
