View Full Version : Will there be a She-Hulk solicitation for August?

The only reason I am asking this is that delays for issue #18 have pushed back the release dates for all the subsequent books, and issue #21 which was originally supposed to be released in July will be coming out in August. I don't know if Marvel plans to release two She-Hulk books that month.
Perhaps we will find out if a trade will be solicited? The "natural" ending for a fourth She-Hulk trade would be issue #18, but for obvious reasons they might want to include issues #19-21...

I have to wonder if Dan's been reworking his scripts for his last four issues, now that he knows they're his last four issues, and this is why #18 has been so badly delayed...

It would be a shame if he were forced to abandon the premise of what will now be his last issue, which originally was to explain how Jennifer did NOT sleep with Juggernaut!

I don't think that will be the case--Dan has been hinting about his "super secret new project" for a while now, even before the solicit for #21. So I think Dan has known for a while that his run on SH was wrapping up. In fact, the solicit for #20 certainly sounds like it will be tying up a bunch of loose ends.

It would be nice if Dan left some open threads for the next writer. It gets annoying when every creative change has to have a bold new direction.

Yeah, but if the next writer has no intention of finishing off lingering story lines then it would be better for Dan to wrap them up.
The lingering storylines from Chris Claremonts run on the FF still annoy me.

Hopefully Dan, the editor and the new writer will consult before the handover to see which existing subplots the new writer wants to continue. Everything else can then be tied up or transfered to one of Dan's other books as needed.

That would be ideal of course.

The model example is the Bendis-Brubaker handover of Daredevil - where Bendis resolved pretty much all the little things he had going on, but left a couple of big story threads open for the next writer to start off with. (This was co-ordinated between the two of them.)

The full Marvel solicits for August do not include a listing for She-Hulk. Presumably the listing for #21 still stands, although that issue may now ship in August instead of July.

Correction, the original solicit for #21 is relisted at Marvel.com, along with a new shipping date of 2007-08-29.
