I don't know if I would call it a superhero book. It is more of a sci-fi book.
And it is pretty darn good.

I liked it. Thought it was very well done.
Like RandyOni said...it's not to much of a Superhero book. I'd classify it as a Sci-Fi Thriller.
Supposedly it's been optioned for a movie. The books would translate very well, me thinks. Could be good if given to the right director.

I read the first two issues but kind of lost interest. If you want a superhero book I'd try either Superfuckers or Street Angel if you haven't picked either up yet.

Actually I think it was Top Shelf.

never would have expected a serialized sci-fi book from a "creative team" from them
you guys doing any superhero-ish comics of note at the moment?

Definitely not a super-hero book, but well worth the read. You did know this was a 5-issue mini and not ongoing, right?

ah
in that case i'll wait for the trade
the first issue was very good, but it kind of went downhill from there IMO...

Strange. I thought it was an Oni, too. It just feels like an Oni book (compliment).

I haven't read THE SURROGATES yet.
As for superhero books, the latest Previews (May 2007) lists a new 5-issue SABRE series by Don McGregor (MAY073378, 48pgs, b&w, $4.99, Desperado Publishing) and a new 4-issue NEXUS series by Mike Baron and Steve Rude (MAY073691, 32pgs, FC, $2.99, Rude Dude Productions). Rude illustrated a story in HARLAN ELLISON'S DREAM CORRIDOR VOL. 2 and he's as good as he has ever been.
And if you haven't picked up CASANOVA by Matt Fraction and Gabriel Ba (Image), the first trade/hc is scheduled to ship next week.

Do you have Project: Superior, published by Adhouse? That would be right up your alley.

yes indeed
i liked it, but there were a few too many segments that took a lot of cheap shots at super hero fans.

You should really check out David Yurkovich's 'Less Than Heroes' if you're looking for something slick and superheroy. From the nice folks at Top Shelf:

Oh God Goddard, you need to be reading Casanova.
I'll put it this way: It's the way I'd imagine your life if you were a time-travelling secret agent.
