seems i've seen threads like this from time to time.

what have you dropped from your pull list recently?

i just now cancelled my pre-orders for:
Deathblow
Gen 13
StormWatch: PHD
(so much for wildstorm)
Gargoyles
Checkmate

i don't think that'll be the last of it, but that's the start of it. i'm at 22 books right now. i'd like to be in the teens within the next few months.

I'd been on the fence with Wonder Woman for a while and finally caught up with the last four or five issues, and the change in writers did nothing to really win me over. Then I get to the end of the last issue and I'm supposed to pick up another comic (Amazons Attack) when I'm barely convinced to buy the one I'm getting? Nope, I'm out.

Ultimate FF

I forgot that one. I also dropped UFF. The Kollins art finished me off.

I think right now I've dropped everything except for Bendis' and Whedon's stuff. And Savage Dragon.

When Bagley's done with USM I'm done. Ultimates. 52 ended and I'm not getting Countdown. Powers as soon as I get tired of the letters page. New Avengers and mighty when the current arcs are done.

Gradually becoming a trades guy. I just enjoy having the whole story in front of me without having to wait extended periods of time.

In the last few months i've dropped UXM (even in trade), PWL (but I realize that was a BIG mistake), Checkmate, Wonder Woman (but I'll give Gail's run a shot),

Aquaman

Moon Knight is hanging by a thread. It comes out so infrequently that that is saving it so far.

American Virgin is also hanging by a thread.

In fact, I think AV's thread just got cut. I'm going to drop it.

With MK, I'll give the new creative team a few issues.

Really? Scalped won me back with the last couple of issues.

Army@Love #2 convinced me to keep reading, too.

I'm thinking about dropping Loveless. I don't know why. I have all the issues and read the first few and it did little for me. I really wanted to like it.

I'm going to read everything I have in a row and make up my mind soon.

Runaways. Whedon's run has been fun so far, but I'm really low on funds these days, and the title just doesn't grab me as much as it used to.

Same here. I gave Loveless about 14 issues, but found that every time i opened it up, i couldn't remember who any of the characters were or what their motivations were. Azzarello sometimes gets too metaphorical in his dialogue for his own good.

Runaways is on the chopping block too. I don't think it's so much Whedon as it is the artist. All of a sudden it just looks like a regular 90's teen superhero book. If the artist sticks around after Whedon's run, i might have to drop it.

I'm not sure I could nail down for you what it is that isn't doing it for me, but it just isn't. I love Deena and Christian, but the last arc, and aspects of the previous arc just weren't for me. Plus I'm either going to be dropped to part time in a couple of months, or have to move and start a new job, so cash is a little tighter than before, so this is a convenient time to drop.

I'm dropping Wasteland and Casanova, but picking the latter up in trades.

I've also dropped Teen Titans. Johns has been terrible on that book lately, but I might give it another go when Beechen starts.

JLA. I'm probably gonna have to drop more soon, but this was the start.

I love Powers but I must admit the "devil" stuff didn't do it for me. I have faith in Bendis and Oeming though.

I feel like they're starting to run out of ideas, and this last arc was just dragging out the story. The only lasting thing that happened is Deena found out Christian had powers. Not much for six issues.

yeah i droped powers a while ago. I'm switching to trades of them when they come out .....if they ever come out. I can't believe the trade after psychotic is still not out. We got that from Oeming last year at Philly :(

I'm done with trades too. I'll get my fix by reading the spoilers for the issues as they come out.

American Virgin -- It's decent as a scathing and satirical look at the relationship between sexuality and religion, especially in the context of the media, but Seagle hasn't given the reader any likable characters, and the protagonist is one-dimensional, so I finally drop it after 14 issues (though I will check it out in trade eventually.)

Batman: Confidential -- Dropped after three issues. I love Diggle, but Year One stories have been done so frequently, that it truly has to be a spectacular story to properly fit the ambiance of a budding Dark Knight in a quickly decaying city to make it special. For my money, only Miller, Loeb, and Wagner have truly done this, and Diggle doesn't explore the vast potential of the first showdown between Luthor and Wayne. Oh, and fugly art by a past-his-prime Whilce Portacio doesn't help at all.

Blue Beetle -- I have too many good teen hero comics to choose from. Between how wonderful Ultimate Spider-Man, X-23: Target X, Runaways, Robin, Gen13, Teen Titans, and others are, this is a superfluous title in relation to my pull list.

Brave & The Bold -- Fun series, but money's tight and I get my favorite DCU heroes teaming up in JLA, JSA, and Superman/Batman.

Flash: The Fastest Man Alive -- Guggenheim is actually writing some strong stuff since #9, but I have to cut some titles and I still have yet to see any writer deal with the effects of rapid aging, quickly thrust upon maturity, or the psychological pressures of living up to The Flash Legacy with Bart. So far, he seems pretty cardboard, and that puts me off. I just don't have the money to wait for Guggenheim to explore all the storytelling potential Bart possesses.

Moon Knight -- Atmospheric to say the least, but the highly cryptic, decompressed nature is extremely unaccessible. I really wanted to stay with this, because Huston is writing some brilliant stuff.

New X-Men -- Good title, but I'm running low on funds, so this gets the axe.

Nightwing -- I actually liked Grayson's run, and Wolfman's is a complete 360 from that. I enjoy the focus on the character of Dick Grayson, but the superheroing portion of the comic is generic.

Uncanny X-Men (after the end of Space arc) -- I like Bru, but I believe he is much better suited for more grounded stories than epic space warfare. I kept going with this because I enjoy what he's doing with Warpath (the next Wolverine) and I'm a huge fan of Havok and Polaris, but this just didn't do it for me. Wonderful Billy Tan artwork however.

I dropped my pull list. I find I buy fewer and better comics when I actually see them before I buy.

The Human Target

Runaways
I'm waffling on The Immortal Ironfist
Girls, buts thats cause its over

And I actually really dug the last Powers arc with the Devil.
