Sorry if this does not belong here. Seems like Cebulski is open to anime/manga and might be interested.

I saw Tekkonkinkreet last week and though I did not like the character designs much (the character animation itself was good though), I thought the animation was outstanding.

Never read the source material (Taiyo Matsumoto's manga, Black and White here in the states), but watching the animation made me curious.

I would love to see animation of this style done for some of the supers in the US. While watching, I was thinking how cool a Spider-Man cartoon would be with the cityscape they used. Much different from New York, but somewhat remincent of Seth Fisher's cityscapes (he is sorely missed). While Marvel movies have been wonderful, Marvel's animation has been... mediocre at best (imo).

So anyone seen it or is interested? Let's talk!

The US site is here: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/tekkonkinkreet/

Japanese site here: http://www.tekkon.net/

That looks pretty cool! Is it coming to the US?

I liked the shot of the kid drawing in the dust/fog of the car window. Kind of a thing kids would do.

However I don't think it's fair to compare a feature animation vs. a television show. I just wish there was a bigger market here for animation. Like comics, this seems to be something japan has a more 'open' view of !

Heh Hawaii is a part of the US. :)

But yes, it has shown in the US, though very limitedly. The DVD is set for June I think.

Oops, didn't see your location!:surrend:

I doubt it made it to Oklahoma City, though sometimes the art museum runs this kinda thing.

I'll be picking up the DVD though!
