yeh... too bad the studios won't go through with the Kevin Smith/Jason Lee remake... cause that is about the only thing that could do justice to the original.

Fuck Yes!!! I had no idea this was coming out. I'm on my way to go pick it up right now. I love that Fletch theme music.

I already have the regular DVD. Why do I need the special one, exactly?

Anyone here actually read all the Fletch books? They're all great. Even the "Son of Fletch" ones, although they're not funny (but still entertaining).

Read them in chronological order, not in order of publication. That way you get a sense of, well, chronology.

Here they are in chronological order, followed by the date they were published.

* Fletch Won (1985)
* Fletch, Too (1986)
* Fletch and the Widow Bradley (1981)
* Fletch (1974)
* Carioca Fletch (1984)
* Confess, Fletch (1976)
* Fletch's Fortune(1978)
* Fletch's Moxie (1982)
* Fletch and the Man Who (1983)
* Son of Fletch (1993)
* Fletch Reflected (1994)

Not sure which ones I liked best. Probably "Fletch" and the two or three after it were my favorites, but they're all really good.

The Flynn books are good, too. Flynn is a spin-off character introduced in the fifth or sixth book.

There's a couple special features such as Interviews, and Behind the scenes. Plus the original DVD is OOP

Fletch, Fletch Won and Confess, Fletch were my favorite books. I wish they were on audio book; the way he writes seems like a natural fit for the format.

I remember when there were rumors floating about a Kevin Smith directed, Jason Lee starring Fletch movie coming out.

Zach Braff dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with the movie that he is writing/directing. Bill Lawrence is still set to direct though.

Not word on who's in line to take over the role, but I think I could actually live with Ryan Reynolds.

makes sense... he's basically been channeling chase's good years his whole career...

FYI - this is $10.48 with free shipping at deepdiscount.com

That beats everyone else by a few bucks.

And here's the back of the DVD for those wondering what else is on this version (courtesy of DVDempire.com):

Watched mine last night! All is right with the world again. Somehow my old VHS copy went missing a long time ago. By the time I wanted to buy it on DVD it was out of print and for the last couple years I seriously considered paying $80 for it on Ebay or Amazon...glad I held out since it FINALLY came out and it's still one of my all time faves.
