You've got the Retro, Silver Centurion, and GRANOV Versions!

That is very flattering. Crazy that they called it that. The helmet doesn't look like any helmet I've drawn, but I imagine they take a lot of artistic freedom with the stuff they do.

I think you are one of the few contemporary artists at Marvel to have the honor of a sculpted named after and inspired by your work.

You can definitely see how you inspired the piece though.

I saw a stealth version in LA. I guess there are three in the pipeline.

I'm the fella who sculpted that... sorry about the helmet  well it should be the Granov Modern Iron Man, the sculpt's completely done referencing your artwork though I wanted a completely different look from Sideshow's version. I am a great fan of your illustrations though I don't really read comics.
I'm currently doing another Iron Man based on your design as well, with artistic freedom of course :) It's the Hulkbuster, but it's just a personal project for portfolio. Bowen's Hulkbuster will be done by the Kucharek Bros.

Welcome to Jinxworld man! Were you the guy Bowen Designs had a message on their website looking for, asking who did an Iron Man sculpt?
Is this your first widely distributed sculpt?
Hope you come back and post a picture of your Hulkbuster.

The way that your first picture fit on the screen, I didn't realize that there was a third bust in it. I thought to myself "that looks like it was influence by Granov to him? Whatever flips his Twinkie."

Yep but I ain't from Thailand :p
Its was kinda pure luck that Bowen picked that up, I just did it for fun and its my first attempt at a Marvel sculpt and bust, I do mostly robots and Transformers figures. So that explains the liberty I took in the design of the sculpt while referencing fully on Adi's design.
Like the modern Iron Man, I made my own changes to the Hulkbuster. It's still in progress as I'm currently working on a Transformer sculpt. I really wonder how will the Kucharek bros' version will look like. Meanwhile here's the latest update.

I love the Sideshow statue. It's massive. I have one sitting above my desk. Jon Favreau has one in his office too, which made me very happy. He had me sign it.
I also have four Bowen statues above my desk too, two Iron Man, the Retro and the Classic, as well as Bionica and Arzach busts.
Griffith, great work man. Everyone does their own interpretations of Iron Man it's kind of the charm of the character. I think the sculpt looks great and I can't wait to see it in person. The hulkbuster looks awesome. 'thought it's not my design, my cover was based on the action figure, I just took some liberties with it to make it work better for me.
I love sculpure, I used to be pretty good at it, I did a lot of it in school. I hope to have the time at some point to sculpt again.

I'd also love to see the Transformers sculpts you've done. Have those been released?

Sorry about that, Bowen only has a very large picture of all three.
Iron Man must be in vogue right now.

Sideshow does a great job with their sculpts; almost on par with Bowen. ;)

Thanks Adi. The sideshow iron man comiquette is really nice, in fact I think all their statues are cool, and I personally prefer their sculptors' styles and scale.
I too studied the Hulkbuster action figure, and while your version is loosely based on that version, I'd say it's very different from it from my point of view. Even the action figures don't really follow the designs in the comics that closely, and sometimes even completely different.
Is it possible to show some of your older works here?

I'm a sculptor by profession, but more of the commercial type for advertising and events etc. All my projects are personal and the Granov Iron Man bust was my first attempt at a Marvel design. So in short, the Transformers stuff I did are just custom jobs for fun and for portfolio. Here are a few of my prouder works.
This is still in the works, 10" tall, fully transformable and articulated, will be completed in a couple of days' time

This is a "statue" made up of diecast vehicles. 15" tall

And finally this is a fully transformable and articulated figure made up of zoids and gundam parts but heavily modified. 8" tall.

I've always had a soft spot for the 2020 Iron Man. It'd be cool to see a Granov version of that armour.

I picked up a bunch of Iron Man comics when my buddy decided to sell them on eBay; figure people better outbid me and I won a ton of stuff that I've yet to read. I wish I had filled in the holes prior to news of the movie.
Oh well, enough good reading to last me.
