When I was a kid, around 1983, my class buried a time capsule that represented our lives and pop culture, and I KNOW WHERE IT'S BURIED. I keep thinking about that Michael Jackson's THRILLER notebook and that Matthew Wilder cassette tape... I think there were a whole bunch of Smurf stickers too. Is it evil to go dig it up and rock out to Break My Stride now?

If you do it, an entire galaxy worth of stars will go supernova in a split second.

I'm not sure! But who would even remember now? It still feels like desecration, but dude, all that 80's swag!!! :)

Y'know, with the onset of eBay, time capsules are a waste of time.

You can buy all the contents and have them mailed to you in days.

Perhaps our differences in age remember the 80's in entirely different ways, brother. :scared: (Relax, don't do it. When you wanna come.)

What could be fun though, is to dig it up, take it home, get someone to take a bunch of pictures of you taking things out of it, and holding it hostage, and just enjoying the contents, while wearing a bandana around your face and waving a gun around. Then you mail the pictures to the school, and ask for some ransom for it's safe return.

But all this costs is a piece of my soul!

You lost your soul the first time you voted Republican!

dig it up and add a bunch of stuff from now and then hit up ebay for a bunch of shit from previous decades as well.

then bury it again just to fuck with people's heads.

however, i bet it has allready been dug up.

In a jar labeled "Abby Normal".

Time capsules are silly. Dig it up and no one will even know. Is it really on anyone's calendar to dig it up in 15 more years?

If a time capsule couls survive intact for a few hundred years it would be pretty cool. I've always liked the idea.

btw, I still have that Matthew Wilder album on vinyl.

How many time capsules do you think people forget to dig up?

I'd normally say it's wrong, but if you figure it's probably been forgotten about anyway, I say go for it.

I always fantasized that the opening of our school time capsules would be a global event of great importance, but now I've become disillusioned. It's not like Geraldo is going to be on site with a television special.

It's not wrong. That is, if you have no soul and care not for the feelings and memories of others.

Nah, what do I care? Get me some of them Smurf stickers while you're at it.

You should dig it up and steal it, but replace it with an exact replica.

Technically, sperm are microscopic time capsules - each one containing 18 years of grief!

So it did make sense!
