World Bank head refuses to step down
WASHINGTON, April 15, 2007 (UPI) -- World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz on Sunday rebuffed calls for his resignation, citing his fight against poverty as his motivation.
The 63-year-old said he will not resign his leadership post with the international organization despite repeated calls for him to do so, maintaining the agency's goal of limiting poverty in developing nations keeps him dedicated, Bloomberg reported Sunday.

"I believe in the mission of this organization and I believe I can carry it out," Wolfowitz said. "This is important work and I intend to continue it."

The former U.S. deputy secretary of defense has come under fire for a promotion he handed out last week to a colleague with whom he once had been romantically involved.

A 24-member development committee again reiterated the lending agency's dedication to its goals in a released statement and said that the current situation is a point of concern.

"We have to ensure that the bank can effectively carry out its mandate and maintain its credibility and reputation as well as the motivation of its staff," the committee said. "The current situation is of great concern to all of us."

Yeah and I've seen that thread your all debating and either talking up or putting down a film that to my knowledge has not yet been produced.

Hey, I didn't mean he sucks overall - just that this is what sucks about him. I'm with you on not judging before the movie comes out. I do think that Farenheit 9/11 was a sad failure because it could have reached a lot more people if it had just backed off in a few places.

So, to stay on topic, there was an interesting article on Wolfowitz in the New Yorker a couple of weeks ago. The NeoCon pshyche is very interesting. I'm not convinced that there has been serious wrongdoing here (maybe she was really great at her job? :scared: ). Anyone that unpopular with his employees is probably not the best guy for the job though; not to mention he is behind the largest US foreign policy disaster since Vietnam, so I don't think he's qualified anyway.

See you dudes at the next Uwe Boll movie, sure to be a classic! You don't need to see/read/hear all works by an arist to know the next project will fit into the same personal artistic style. Moore will turn out another sensationalist mockumentry, you'd be fucking nuts to say otherwise.
