The Sin City "group" theatrical poster was replaced with a newer poster 2 weeks before the film opened. The new poster was sent with a note saying "please destroy the original poster" which was odd, because they normally just send updated posters and that's that...
So I have one of the ones that was to be destroyed... but we couldnt figure out why.. we thought something had been misspelled. Tonia brought home the "new" version and we compared them...
The old poster has the following on the rating...
"perversive language, strong sexual content and some violence"
SOME violence? YA THINK?
The "new" poster says ...
"sustained strong stylized violence, nudity and sexual content including dialogue"
SOME violence? Jeez, that's like saying porn has "some sexual content" in it...
SO.. poster collecters out there... Grab the Sin City group poster with "some violence" on it before it hits the net that it was changed... they're bound to become "sought after"...
