View Full Version : "It's a miserable Day."

Why are rainy days always seen as miserable? I love them. Free car wash, don't need to water the lawn, or the plants. Makes everything smell better AND it isn't ungodly bright and hot.
So it's raining a little. Big fuckin deal? Doesn't mean your day needs to be miserable.
Shit, if anyone should be complaining about the rain, it's me. I've got laundry on the line outside I need to have dried, so I'm gonna be forced to go to a laundromat tomorrow if it continues.
It's a beautifully grey, clean smelling day. The only time of the year when Fla DOESN'T smell like a fucking septic tank.
I love rainy days, too.
I'm only happy when it rains.

Yeah, well, I think baseball players are a buncha punkasses. All those millions of dollars, they can play in some fuckin rain, snow and mud.
You don't see football games being called because of a little rain.
Pussies. :D

I used to love the rain. It was always very nostalgic for me because it reminded me of home in the Seattle area.
But now that's no longer home and no longer holds warm memories for me. So I'm not a fan of rain any more.

The only time I love rain is if its been super hot and it just suddenly starts to rain. I also love thunderstorms, I always love the threat of doom!

Thank you! Football players play through snow and crazy wind too, yet they're paid siginificantly less for a more grueling schedule that nearly guarantees injuries every week.

Times like these make me wish I had a porch, with a 2-person swing so I could sit outside and draw as it rained. I love doing that, but we don't have comfy chairs here.
And my wife loves reading outside during the rain.

Kari, this is an AWESOME viewpoint. Props for making me laugh.
Back on topic: Being a Seattlelite, I love me some rain. Yes, in the mid of winter when i havent seen the sun in 6 weeks, i will occasionally /glare the rain. But I'd much rather be wearing a sweater than shorts. I'd much rather wake up to the pidder-padder of rain drops. Rain is awesome. Umbrellas are for wusses!

One of the best days of my life involved a van, my then-fiance, and San Francisco during a dawn 'til dusk downpour.

they should get a better players union then ;)
but lets not pretend that these poor football players are getting taken advantage of in some way... it's not like they think they're signing up for a hugging contest and then get thrown out onto a football field.
i'd take their pay (and associated risk of injury) over my 65 hours a week just trying to make rent any day...

A similar situation occured in Febuary, in which I blame for my rather sudden weight gain.

I love rainy days, as I love cold days in general. Hot days, on the other hand, suck big, fat, donkey-sized balls.

Oh, the brake on the van slipped on a steep and rainslick hill and it ran over your fiance?

I like rain when it's light, but I hate that horrible sticky rain you get, where it's not particuarly heavy or light but your clothes get it bad.

;)
yes actually, but unlike you mine was a "accident". ;)

Rain makes your car dirtier, not cleaner.
Also, I don't think "rainy days [are] always seen as miserable." Especially over the breadbasket states and the South.

Also, the pollen is gone from the hood, too.

I've always said they're pussies compared to Rugby players.
But, they're still tougher than baseball players, who can't be bothered to get a little muddy.

Yeah, rain is great. Especially since we live on a dirt road so my car is always dirty. Now it looks much better.

There. See? Proof rain washes your car.

I think it might come down to different training. It's like why a 100m sprint event might be cancelled when a marathon would be fine.

i think if it's a heavy extended rain it could possibly wash your car (or at least rinse off the dust etc), but a light spattering is only gonna make it look worse.

It's been raining nonstop all day today.
And by all day I mean at least since 1pm, when I woke up.
I'm loving the hell out of it, but everytime my father-in-law comes into the house he sighs "oh, what a miserable day" and I can't help but look at him oddly.
