Adi,
I read in an old "Joe Friday's" that you're doing some work on the Iron Man movie. Can you tell us what kind of stuff you're doing for the movie? Are you designing the armor?

I established the initial direction for the armor, helped design it, and I art directed the 3d build of it. Same for the main villian. I also did a series of illustrations establishing various scenes for the story. And I am currently doing illustrations for marketing, toys, etc.

Very cool. Will we ever get to see your initial designs? Is the third build of it the final? Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Not third, but 3d, as in digital and physical model. What you'll see on the screen is what I worked on. I saw the designs through from the very start until they went to final build.

Adi, out of curiosity, do you feel more comfortable painting an Iron-Man type armored character, or a flesh-and-bone human? Is it tougher at all to get the reflections done right on Stark's shiny metal?

Is there going to be an Art of Iron Man book featuring your preprod stuff? I'd kill to see it.

SaintDom, painting metal isn't any harder than painting human skin, etc. But painting red metal is a pain in the ass. Red is the most difficult color to get right (shift just a little and it's either pink or orange) and having to do a reflective surface in red with the right dimpled texture is hard work.
killingyouguy, there has been talks about it. I'd, obviously, love for it to happen, but it's not up to me. There is definitelly more than enough material from all of the artists involved, concept designers, storyboard artists, sculptors, 3-d modelers, etc., etc... Lots and lots of awesome art. It would make for a great book.
A lot of my art will get published one way or the other though because a lot of it has been adapted for marketing purposes and soon you'll be able to buy everything under the sun with one of my Iron Man pieces on it.

Excellent.
Would it be rude to ask exactly how big the concept team is for a project such as yours? How many people roughly?
Also, is this the first time you've overseen the development of a project of this scale?
