I think IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN can be excused as every other page has about 16 panels on it.

Worst use of splashes? That issue of MARVEL TEAM-UP where the first page is a full-page shot of Avengers Tower followed by a double-page splash of it blowing up!

I think Nextwave can be excused for gratuitous use of unnecessary double page splashes too. They were also making a point, I think.

Dan Slott managed to make the SAME point WITHOUT using the double-page splash. For me, page 1 of issue #17 is worth buying the whole comic.

I do agree that some of the winks at the audience are getting a bit much. SHE-HULK should get back to the pure, quality, gimmick-free stories its reputation is based upon. The last few issues have been below standard.
