Gotta agree about it being Bagley. The only person who holds a candle to him is John Romita Jr. and he isn't doing Spidey currently.

I like his work. It's good, great splash pages. Prefer Garney's work, he tells the story much better panel to panel.

I always wished Brett Booth or Tom Raney would get regular work on a Spider-Man comic.

But he's no Bagley.

And Garney is under-rated at the moment.

I think the main reason I dont really dig Medina is like Capullo, their style reminds me too much of McFarlane, and I just dont dig that kind of artwork.

I think Garney is doing the best work of his career on Amazing, he has redeemed himself in my eyes after a horrible run on JLA a couple of years back.

Bagely is still the king to me, and I am looking forward to see what Immonen and Jiminez can do.

People seem to be swooning left and right over garney but I don't really see the appeal. To me it looks bland. It lacks energy.

Definitely agree that Bags is the best goin right now...

and Garney...I don't know what I think about him right now.

Like, I look at the drawing...and I should love it, the fights are fantastic, the action fluid and interesting, and the spidey poses are perfect. But for some reason, I just dont dig it that much, perhaps its the colorist or something, but it just doesn't feel all that great as a whole.

Weird.

I forgot to mention Medina, lol....I agree that he too is awesome, he is a very good poster artist, as he does the big character splashes very well. That being said, I really can't get into Sensational. Which I hate, because I am a Spidey freak, but I really only enjoy Ultimate and Amazing right now. Im ready for a complete overhaul of the 616 Spidey line...

Cool, I couldnt put my finger on it exactly, but I thought it might be the colorist, you're right. The coloring really throws the book off to me.

One thing that Civil War had goin for it...one of the most beautiful books I've ever read, and a big reason for that was the coloring.

In the last issue of Amazing, Garney rocked. Before that it seemed like he might have been trying to channel JRJR, but do his own thing at the same time, and nobody can do that successfully.

My order:

Garney
Yu
Bagley

However, they are all great, but just at different levels of great.

I agree with the title of this thread. Medinas artwork works great because he draws him so dynamocally, which is the way Spidey should ALWAYS be drawn. Also, he shouldnt be the bulky bodybuilder-type that alot of people draw him. I love Bags work, but Medina is kicking ass. And his work is miles above Mcfarlanes, and thats not an easy task considering the great run McFarlane had on Amazing.
