I just filled up a 24 x 18 x 12 in box with trades and HCs about 60 percent full, and FUCK IT WAS HEAVY. I'm usually a pretty decent lifter, but I could not get this thing off the ground. Definitely something to remember if I ever take the plunge and go 100% trade.

Maybe if you drop a nut, Bendis will autograph it.

Long boxes aren't too bad for me. But I had quite a few oversized HCs in this particular box as well as two Absolute Editions, and that made it heavier than usual.

Get one of these. It's the best $100 you'll ever spend:

Try a box of teacher edition books. When we moved, my wife packed up some bog boxes with her school books in there. I made her unpack some of them into smaller boxes. She asked why, and I told her to pick one up. She couldn't.

I had a sore back for two weeks after NYCC when I stuffed all my hardcovers into my backpack.

Those don't help much with stairs!

It's not really a matter of "boo-hoo, I can't lift this," it's more like "this shit won't come off the ground!".

Try moving across the country and only being able to take as much weight as the airlines allow. I have so many left in Ontario that are slowly making their way out here whenever anyone visits.

Do what I told Lori. Don't pack so damn much into one box! ;-)

Or you could ask the friendly people in your market/deli if you could borrow it for an hour.

Whenever I move my stuff around, I usually heft two or three long boxes at a time. Good work out. Especially if you're going up and down stairs. :)

That's what I did. They're much more manageable now. Still can't believe how much that box weighed.

I hear you. I only have one box left at my parents' house to move, and it's trades and HCs. I'm kinda dreading it next time I go home.
