I posted this on the Bendis Board, added a few things, but I was curious if you'd seen it.
SPOILERS
I was SEVERELY disappointed in this movie. This could have easily been a great movie, but the writers must not have been paying to their own script when they weakend and contradicted the character they set up in Queen Gorgo. That scene was garbage and ruined the movie for me. She would have cut his cock off, shoved it down his throat, taken the corpse to the senate floor, and showed them he was paid off with Xerxes gold. She was a strong female character, who was in partnership with her husband in the decision to stand against Persia, and believed in honor, fidelity, and no surrrender. She told her husband come home with your shield or on top of it. She was brilliant and would have known not to trust the politician.
Personally, I think this ignorant scene was only included so they could have that stupid line said back to the politician (or maybe some fanboy fetish wet dream).
I also didn't prefer his interpretation of Leonidas' stroll. I liked it better in Miller's book where it was obvious these were his handpicked 300 and much more subtle. I guess the audience couldn't figure it out for themselves unless it was TOTALLY spelled out for us.
I loved the King Leonidas and battle scenes.
