Just wanted to remind those people who might be interested in watching the new Eddie Izzard & Minnie Driver show, The Riches, tonight.
It starts at 10:00 EST, and repeats again at 11:00.
The plot sounds pretty good, so I'm going to give it a shot since I have NO interest in The Black Donnelly's.

The pilot is good. I recommend it.

I didn't think this was coming on for a while...

I've been looking forward to watching something DECENT on F/X after all these weeks of avoiding Dirt like a plague.

I checked out the FX site.
They are going to repeating the first episode a few times this week just to let you know.
I also wanted to let you guys know that it seems the show may run longer than an hour, so add some extra time to your recorders if need be. :)

Thanks!
I had the need to imitate Damon Wayans from The Last Boy Scout with his Prince Impression...
Although I'd prefer that you picked the one from the last SuperBowl where he was behind the curtain and his guitar was prominently taking the place of his manhood.
It's all good though.
And to let you know. I really enjoyed the 1st episode. Looks like it should be good!

So, um, what did everyone think? Anyone watch it?

Eh. Kind of had a "Big Love" vibe to it with the gypsies.
And it was odd to hear Izzard & Driver doing american accents.
I'll give it a few more eps.

I really liked it.
It was MUCH better then Dirt and kept me interested.
It will be interesting to see how everything plays out for the season with the teaser that they showed right after.
I think what did it for me was Eddie Izzard's character. I said it in the other thread, but it bears repeating...
Even though he is a thief and con artist he seems really grounded in his love for his family and also doing the right thing. I know that is a contradiction of sorts, but that seems to be how he is playing it.
He seems to want something better for both himself and his family, even if he seems to be doing it the wrong way.
I didn't mind the "accent" since I was thinking from their gypsy background they'll have a mish-mash of accents and be difficult to understand unless you are from their "family". Much like Brad Pitt's character in Snatch.

the damn DVR taped the last 10 minutes of Dirt & cut the last 10 (I think) of Riches. I liked it quite a bit, but I'm worried that it's listed a a comedy.

I really liked the pilot a lot.
I just hope they do the 12 planned episodes and end it, since the premise can't sustain itself for too long.
But yeah, while funny it defintely is a drama.

Just watched episode #2. Still a great show. I hope it can last 2 to 3 seasons.

I enjoyed episode 2 as well.
There were a few plot points that have me worried, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and see where they take us.

Don't think it'll hold my interest. After two episodes, I still haven't seen enough to make me give two shits about these characters. Honestly, it seems like a poor man's Big Love to me.
