This story was so well done and every issue was consistent. From the editor Andy Schmidt to writer Kieth Giffen and to the artist Andrea Di Vito. It updated all the cool marvel cosmic characters and it made Nova more than a Peter Parker wannabe. This book delivered on all accounts and hopefully with the trade coming out it will get more shine.

I liked Agents of Atlas more but yeah Annihilation was awesome.

If this is a petition, I'd sign.

I thought the Nova mini was actually a little better than the main title but I enjoyed every page of the series and tie-ins.

Gotta go with Dr Strange.

It was superior to Civil War, that's for sure.

Absolutely! Giffen really outdid himself with this event, hopefully it will revitalize the cosmic side of Marvel for years :)

For me this was the best event Marvel has ever done.

I picked up the first hardcover volume and I'm really digging it, and I have 2 more volumes before I even get to Annihilation proper. Nova was great, so I'm really looking forward to what Abnett and Lanning do on the sequel and the Nova ongoing.

I wouldn't say it was the best mini.

Definitely the best event though.

I couldn't get into it, but that's probably more of a failing on my part than it is a critique of the book's quality.

I liked it a lot more than CW.

Annihilation was good but I actually liked the Nova lead in more I think it's because like everyone they noticed how Nova was just no longer a jokey character but actually really awesome.

Much better then Civil War but in terms of Mini's Doctor Strange was quite good as was Agents Of Atlas.

I'd say Annihalation: Nova was #1. Just enjoyed it more. But it was an awesome mini.

I'd wait until the remaining 75% of 2007 has passed before making those kinds of judgements.

Wow, holy shit, I thought he meant last year.

Never mind.

He probably did, but that's not what he said.

Hellstorm: Son of Satan is the best mini of 2006. Annihilation was the best event of 2006.

Yeah (assumming this is 2006). Dr. Strange was amazing (though half of it came out this year), Agents of Atlas was also great, but ended up being as much set up as story in itself. Annihilation has the scope, the entertainment, the great art - I won't disagree.

Pretty good year for Marvel minis, btw. I usually skip minis.

That being said, I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Eternals.

I was just reading the synopsis of book 1 on Amazon, it sounds an awful lot like the Starlost story from New Warriors. Didn't that whole Nova story already get played out with his power and his homeworld being destroyed?

The Eternals had a strong start and weak end. I loved the art though.

That being said, I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Eternals.I havnt read it yet. Niel Gaiman is a write for the trade type writer so ill read it in one sitting.

I agree. Compared to other Gaiman books Eternals was pretty weak. I thought it started very good, I felt that turning it from a 6 issue to 7 issue mini hurt it. I think a double sized 6th issue would have been much better then spreading the story to 7 issues.

JRJR did some great work though. He is my favorite artist working today, and I loved his work on Eternals.

Issue 6 was double sized.

I really dug the first HC of Annihilation. Never read anything cosmic in the Marvel Universe before, but I'd heard good things, so I bought it. Can't wait for the second two HC's.

I enjoyed Annihilation, a lot actually, but couldn't call it mini of the year.
